  • Episode 79: Laurie Metcalf - "Roseanne" (S2 Ep15 - "An Officer and a Gentleman")
When Roseanne Barr briefly boycotted her own show during the filming of Season 2, an episode was written sending her character out of town and focusing on her sister Jackie's interim role as wife and mother to Dan and the kids. This week, we queen out on the nuanced chemistry between Laurie Metcalf and John Goodman, the goosey goodness of Natalie West, the episode as a one-act play, coat acting, men who are queens, the concept of Mom Time, and when shows should call it quits.

  • The Best Supporting Aftershow - Diva Worship & Corporate America
This week on the Best Supporting Aftershow we are talking about our favorite Divas, or in our case, perhaps a lack-thereof. We take a deep dive into why gay men are drawn to divas, and revisit our roots of why BSA energy is our drug of choice. Then it's off to corporate America as Colin reveals some exciting news in the form of the end of an era and a fabulous Summer Sabbatical. In our BSA of the Week segment Nick becomes a #plantdad, sings the praises of Laura Hankin's newest book, and gives a shout out to his mom, Deb. Colin weighs in on his recent binge of Dublin_Zoetrope's podcast and reveals that he has taken the plunge into NBC's Good Girls. Happy Mother's day!

  • Episode 78: Olympia Dukakis - "Moonstruck" (1987)
"Moonstruck" is one of 10 movies to receive Oscars for both Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress, and deservedly so for Cher as the lovestruck Loretta and the late, great Olympia Dukakis as her mother Rose. We also get a classic Assistant to the BSA in Julie Bovasso as the delightfully nuanced Rita, a perfectly charming/smarmy John Mahoney, that amazing climactic set piece over oatmeal, Olympia's quintessential "when she won it" moment, Vincent Gardenia's punim, a very wolfy Nicholas Cage, and the sheer star power of Cher, with that mane of hair and her oddly familiar speckled pea coat.

  • Episode 77: The BSA's of "Monsoon Wedding" (2001)
Mira Nair's marigold-filled "Monsoon Wedding" is a beautiful celebration of the complexities of love in its many forms. And it's flooded with an ensemble of fabulous actors, especially Best Supporting Shefali Shah as Ria, the "always a bridesmaid, never a bride" cousin of Aditi, whose arranged marriage to the dreamy Hemant has brought dozens of family members to Delhi for days of ceremony, celebration, music, new connections, secrets revealed, and more than a little bit of rain.

  • The Best Supporting Aftershow : BAFTA winners and final Oscar predictions
This week on the Best Supporting Aftershow we are talking about the BAFTA winners! The snubs, the surprises, but most importantly a win for Sir Anthony Hopkins! Nick and Colin make their final Oscar predictions but are still unsure as ever as we lead into Oscar weekend. Colin receives accolades from a collegiate blast from the past and introduces the magic of Best Supporting Marco.

  • Episode 76: Annette Bening - "The American President" (1995)
While Annette Bening is undoubtedly the shining star of "The American President" (and unfairly looked over for a Best Actress Oscar nomination, in our humble opinions), she's our BSA this week because, well, we make the rules around here. Not to say the supporting cast isn't stacked, with Martin Sheen, Michael J Fox, Samantha Mathis, Wendie Malick, "Little Giants" star Shawna Waldron, and one of our favorite queens to queen out on, Anna Deveare Smith. Michael Douglas certainly gets our vote as President Andy and we have much to say about the lyrical genius of Aaron Sorkin. But we're completely captivated by Sydney Ellen Wade, whether at her giddiest ("What do I do?"), her angriest (that drawer acting!) or her sexiest(honking the mattress). We'd navigate Dupont Circle any day for Bening's pitch perfect performance in what is, well, a pitch perfect 90's movie.

  • The Best Supporting Aftershow - The SAG Award Winners
This week on the Best Supporting Aftershow we are discussing the SAG award winners! From the predictable to the unpredictable, we are more confused than ever as to who will win Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress at this years Oscars.
In our BSA of the week segment, Nick promotes two new fabulous TikTok accounts and gushes over the magic of Celia Keenan Bolger's new podcast, Sunday Pancakes. Then Colin reminds us of the brilliance of the YouTube series "In Bed with Joan," and urges our listeners to listen to the Jim Rash episode! *wink wink*

  • Episode 75: The BSA's of "Mars Attacks!" (1998)
Tim Burton's schlocky satire of 1950's alien invasion movies has a stacked cast, from prestige actors like Sylvia Sidney and Rod Steiger to rising stars Natalie Portman and Jack Black. Plus a whole new side to Annette Bening, Pam Grier driving a bus, Glenn at a 10, peak Sarah Jessica Parker, a super swively Lisa Marie in high drag, and even a minute and a half of Danny DeVIto!
