According to the Health and Safety Executive in the United Kingdom, about 40% of all work related illness was attributed to stress! Stress is known as the silent killer. It is a weapon of mass destruction.
It is so common yet many employees are reluctant to talk about stress at work due to the stigma attached to it and people still think they will be seen as weak if they admit they are struggling.

It is also known that culturally as a people, we would rather manage very stressful situations in the workplace and even hide under the disguise of 'i'm praying about it' rather than get some help or even better GET OUT of that bad situation.

In today's podcast, Bimbola and Jo were joined by a guest speaker Chika Anajemba. Chika is a high flyer who worked in what others would consider a dream job in a very high profile company. She had to make a very difficult decision after undergoing stress in her role. It wasn't an easy decision as she shares on the podcast. As a parent of school age children, play date and sleepover becomes the order of the day. It doesn't matter how long our children spend time with their friends in school, they still yearn for more in the form of a play date or sleepover. This in itself is a good indication of how our children interact socially and form lasting friendships at a young age.

Whilst the children are excited and look forward to play dates and sleepovers, their parents on the other hand might not be overly excited about this for various reasons which is quite disappointing to the children.
