I read a small bite of The Gifted Child Quarterly (probably the resource from whence the terms "left-brained" and "right-brained" come from), read a bit more and comment on Betty Edwards (just buy the book, you won't regret it!) and I also read Charlotte Mason herself in her Volume 1, Home Education. In that excerpt, the phrase "unaccountably stupid" comes up. Brilliant.

In this episode I dive right into reading and commenting on some excerpts of Betty Edwards' book "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain." This is a wonderful book that explains a method for learning to develop perceptual and drawing skills. Charlotte Mason included drawing in the curriculum at the very earliest age, so I'm reading through this book to help shape my methodology and re-acquire my own drawing skills that have gotten rusty over the years . Secondly, I read an excerpt from Francis Bate's article from the PR called "The Fine Arts and Education." I also mention Art Middlekauff's "Nature Notebooks in the 21st Century" from Charlotte Mason Poetry. Enjoy my ruminations upon these ideas!
