Big Picture: God is in the redeeming business, the cross is central to everything in life. God does not waste events, situations and circumstances in our lives. He wants to redeem them for His glory.

Big Picture: 1 Peter 1:6-7 In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you ave been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith - more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire - may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Big Picture: Learning to lean on God is a gracious process that God takes us through. There is a testimony that God wants us to have, it is, "we are more than conquerors through Him (Christ Jesus) who loved"

Big Idea: David's security in god changed the way he responded. Saul's insecurity was most obvious in his behavior or the way he lived.

Big Picture: A good day is a blessing from God for God is the source of every blessing. A blessed day can turn bad when we view blessings as something we deserve. We can become possessive, fearful and angry when blessing are threatened.

Big Picture: We live in culture that is obsessed with outward appearance. Judgements are often made by what we see. God cares more about the heart of a person than the appearance of a person.

Big Idea: Knowing why the resurrection of Christ is first and foremost to Paul is emphatically essential for all people and that to us Christ is first and foremost.

Big Picture: Just to know that God is delighted in us, in some way, ought to provoke us to know and to do whatever it is. It is easy to be caught in our own church/religious activity: including our form of worship, thinking God is impressed with it. What God is most delighted in is our obedience.

Big Picture: Trusting God completely can be risky business. Trusting God completely means we cannot be content to stay complacent or to be content with mediocrity. Trusting God completely means, "I cannot goo with God and stay where I am." (Henry Blackaby)

Big Idea: Pressure is not uncommon in life. We face pressure all the time. Pressure brings out what we trust and depend on the most. When the pressure is on, we have a choice. We can wait on God and trust Him or we can lean on our own securities and respond out of the flesh.
