In 1 Peter 1 we come to the statement- -Joy full of Glory.- This -Joy- is weighty and steadfast, responsive because of our fellowship with Christ, and it is intrusive because it penetrates our hearts and minds and impacts our entire being.

Biblical love is cultivated in the heart of the believer by Christ. It is a determined act of the will, it always results in determinate acts of self-giving and is given to the utterly unworthy.

The second reward that Peter references when it comes to a tempered faith is that not only will we ascend into glory, but that glory will descend upon us and we shall be like Christ and share in His glorious appearance.

God has a design behind the griefs and miseries which His people suffer. Suffering, not for wrong, but rather their suffering is to establish and mature their faith and devotion to the LORD.

When it comes to faith and the believer, -faith- is used in three ways-----1- Saving Faith--2- Doctrinal Faith--3- Practical or a living faith.----A practical faith is the hardest one for the Christian. It is trusting God and His word for things that are out of our control and whose end is not readily seen-

From this it is clear that when Peter said that the Christian is guarded by -the power of God,- he was not simply saying that our protection is certain -which it is-. Rather, Peter here is asserting with as much energy as could be employed by the Greek language that the protection and preservation afforded to the Christian is certain, unthwartable, and undepletable-

The Old Testament promise of land, was not the land of Canaan in which Abraham lived and died believing he never received the promise-Canaan was the anti-type-the picture-. Rather the Promised Land is the New Heavens and Earth which is -the inheritance- of all saved in Christ -both Old Testament and New Testament-.

Hope is the certainty of what is guaranteed- And so when it comes to the New life we have in Christ, the Bible is quite specific as to that which ought to govern our minds, impel us in ministry, and direct us in life as well death- it is the confident expectation that arises from the knowledge of God-s future plan for His people

Christ-s death and resurrection was like a spiritual atom bomb which rather than destroying, brought with it super-abounding life-... With Christ-s resurrection, you must see that a shock wave was sent both backwards and forwards in time invading this world with Resurrection power

Seeking an escape clause in order to justify his lack of love toward outsiders, the Lawyer asked, -Who is my neighbor-- Far from granting an escape clause when it came to the obligations of the Law -as the religious teachers of that day typically did-, Christ teaches here that love and compassion must never be partial. Rather, our love must be expressed to any and all in need.
