As Pastor Matt continues in the book of Joshua, we walk through the story of the two spies taking refuge in Rahab's home, what this meant in it's cultural context, and how God was redeeming a previous sin of the Israelites.

Pastor Matt gives the second message in our Joshua series from Joshua 1:6-18, and gives context to the conquest of Canaan. The watchers, the nephilim, and other dark supernatural forces are the clear target of Joshua's conquest, and this puts the events to follow in a much different light.

We see in the text that Joshua never achieved a complete conquest, and thus never allowing God's people to fully enter into the rest he had for them. Jesus, being a new Joshua, has delivered God's people and conquered the true enemy of the original conquest, giving us access to God's rest in it's fullness.

We find ourselves nearing the end of John's gospel, where Jesus meets peter and some other disciples on the shore. Jesus performs yet another miracle, but this one feels different. The disciples have gone back to work, back to the life they knew prior to Jesus. But here, Jesus meets them after he has risen. He never criticized them for going fishing, in fact like always, Jesususes the fishing to teach them and love them through the difficultseason.
