The Prophet weeps for a balm of healing and Paul wants us to live peaceable lives; all the while Jesus tells us to be like managers who give discounts to make friends and the Psalmist wants the nations around them to face wrath while his own people to be saved. What on earth could these seemingly incongruent readings have to say to us?
