Original Broadcast Date: April 7, 2019
Art of Charm host, AJ Harbinger, joins the show to talk about how he made a massive shift in his life during grad school, how the Art of Charm has evolved, the importance of nonverbal communication, and he shares 3 simple tricks to improve your relationship with technology/digital media! Really enjoyed doing this one back in April and I'm extremely grateful to AJ for sharing his time.
For this week's episode I chatted with my buddy Dylan Greene. Dylan has many entrepreneurial roles and while he lives in Dublin he is often traveling all around the world. We discussed why Dylan dips his toes into so many different things, as well as mindset- pushing yourself and conquering fear, as well as channeling introvert and extrovert ideals congruently. Really enjoyed our chat and hope you do as well, very grateful for Dylan's time!
My friend, Johnny, co-hosts The Art of Charm Podcast and Bootcamp. The most recent AoC topic was dating and the guys talked about a lot of interesting ideas around the topic. In listening, I framed the conversations in terms of what it looks like to date in a new environment (new city/post college life for me) and so I wanted to talk with Johnny about this. Along the way we discuss limerence or falling in love with the idea of falling in love, as well as nervousness, overthinking, and the pros and cons of dating in the digital age with apps like Tinder and Bumble. And of course we got off on some conversation about self-improvement as a couple like-minded self improvement junkies tend to do. :) Here's the link to the start of the AoC Podcasts on dating https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-art-of-charm/id212382281?i=1000437311098 and a link to the Art of Charm website where you can find out more about their classes centered around improving your soft skills and becoming more confident! https://theartofcharm.com
Today I thought it would be useful to share with you my thoughts on why I do this podcast and my goals and ambitions with it. Hint- it's not just a health and fitness podcast! :)
I may be biased :) but I think these two are extremely successful in their respective fields, and they've learned a lot since beginning their careers as a teacher and a lawyer around my age. Something I value tremendously is the advice of people who are older and more experienced than me, especially in the context of advice they wish they had at my age. This and more I discussed with my parents which involved networking, getting involved, and what it was like seeing technology and the internet take off over their lifetimes and careers. I'm very grateful to my biggest role models and supporters for taking the time to be on my show!
David joins the show to share some awesome tips to improve your mobility and posture as well as why you shouldn't overdo it with stretching, especially early on in the process. We also talked about office/work culture and where its headed in general as well as in the context of health and wellbeing. Really enjoyed having David on and grateful for the knowledge he shared to help us all stay more mobile and happier!
The second edition of Big Idea Saturday is live! You guys loved the first one so I'm happy to get to share more of my sporadic ideas. Here I talk about why not to always trust societal norms and why to look at your life in the context of what will matter years down the line and not in immediacy.
