Today we're wrapping up not only the "I AM" series but also our 5th season of BtR!   We're so grateful you guys have been with us thus far and we appreciate the support.   If every Sunday morning was leading to just one event in history it should be the Resurrection; not just on Easter.  Not only did Jesus predict His own death and come back from the grave He also refers to HIMSELF as the Resurrection, but what does that actually mean? As Pastor Nate concluded our I AM series on Resurrection Sunday, not only do we celebrate the fact that Jesus rose from the dead.  Jesus IS the Resurrection and Life.  In other words, he is in control of death and life.  We hope you have enjoyed this series that depends on our faith in Christ.

Hey everyone!  Thank you for joining us for today's episode, we're so grateful for you and all of our listeners who jump in to see what's going on at Avenue Church, Beyond The Row.  Today we're getting close to ending our sermon series about the seven "I AM" statements of Christ, and this past Sunday was about when Jesus referred to Himself as the 'The Bread of Life'.

When we begin to think of Jesus as the Bread of Life, it shows us how the human race was created to crave food.  The question becomes, do we crave the Bread of Life, or do we crave other breads that leave us hungry and empty?

Our 5th "I AM" statement in our sermon series, also entitled "I AM", is the statement Christ made about being 'The Gate', or in some translations, 'The Door'.   It means in many ways that Jesus is simply the ONLY way to the Father, and to an eternity free from death.   How can we apply that to our lives?  Is He really the only way?  We talk about these questions today as well as some other hot topics (including the dangers of making ourselves our own masters) on today's episode of "Beyond the Row".   Thank you for joining in!

When we think about what happens to us after death, we hope that being a good person and believing in God gets us there.  To many this makes sense.  However, when Jesus tells us He is the Gate, it challenges the very notion of being good and believing in many ways to God will get you to heaven.  So what does Jesus truly mean in saying that "He is the Gate?"

Have you ever noticed all of the imagery and symbolism in scripture relating to trees, seeds or vines?  Jesus even refers to Himself as the One True Vine.  What does this mean?  Why is it significant?  Join us today as we talk about this and go further together from this past week's sermon.

When we think about how Jesus reflects his divinity by stating who he is, He brings great comfort to humanity by showing we can never work hard enough to be accepted by Him.  It's simply being connected to Him that will bring life everlasting.  Pastor Nate digs deeper into this idea as Jesus shows us that he really is the True Vine.
