Tasnisha Tingle Smith is the Founder and Principal Analyst of Global South Analytics and  is a former foreign policy analyst and advisor with the U.S. government.  She has served as a political analyst with the Central Intelligence Agency and has held policy positions at the U.S Departments of State and Treasury. In 2011, she was named to the Council on Foreign Relations National Task Force on Brazil. She is also currently writing a book reflecting on how Brazil and South Africa, two once-promising countries on the cusp of global ascension,  plunged back into  economic stagnation, political upset and social upheaval.
