In an online meeting on the 142nd Jayanti of Bhagavan Ramana, 21st December 2021, Michael discusses his core teachings with fellow devotees in Hyderabad, explaining that they are the very essence of advaita vēdānta, because they highlight and clarify the practical implication of the ancient texts in an extremely simple yet deep and refined manner.
----more----
After completing his main discussion at 39:06, Michael was asked to open his camera so that those who were listening could have his ‘darśan’ (sight of him), but this request was not picked up in this recording, so where it was made there is a brief pause, followed by Michael laughing and explaining that according to Bhagavan the only real darśanam (seeing) is svarūpa-darśanam (seeing one’s own real nature), which means being aware of ourself as we actually are.
During this discussion Michael discusses the meaning and implications of passages from Bhagavan’s writings, including Uḷḷadu Nāṟpadu, Nāṉ Ār?, Hṛdaya kuhara madhyē and Aruṇācalaramaṇaṉ.
This episode can also be watched as a video, 2021-12-21 Hyderabad Ramana Jayanti: Bhagavan’s teachings are the very essence of advaita vēdānta, and a more compressed audio copy in Opus format (which can be listened to in the VLC media player and some other apps) can be downloaded from here.
