Win At Home First

Bi-vocational ministry, fatherhood and identity with Peter Ostapko, author and business leader

Listen Later

A friend told me that I needed to connect with this week's podcast guest, Peter Ostapko, because of his heart to help people with their identity. The fact is that their identity is not in their job, salary, or type of car, but instead in their relationship to God.

Oh man, am I glad that we connected.

One reason is because of the Kinsmen Journal he and his team created. It is basically a very professional coffee table book that talks about fatherhood and identity. Seriously, click on the link and look at how professional it is! I have a copy and have read some of the stories and they are awesome.

And the Kinsmen Journal project isn't even his full time job!

Peter is a VP at a bank in Springfield, MO. Peter and I have a great discussion on being bi-vocational and the struggle of asking ourselves, 'Do we have what it takes?'

Peter is married with two kids and one on the way so he understands about winning at home first!

Great episode if you are juggling a side hustle or want to pursue a dream. Plus the podcast is very powerful if you are a man, or have sons.

In this episode, you'll discover…

  • What is the key trait to winning at home and at work? (1:15)
  • Can our work expand or contract to the time allotted? (4:05)
  • What do you want? (16:05)
  • How to continue pressing forward with a passion project, despite difficulty? (22:52)
  • How do you leave your projects in God's hands?? (28:29)

Peters Bio

Peter is the Founder and Publisher of Kinsmen Journal. Publishing has long been a dream of his, though only in recent years did the dream become more clear. This platform and voice has been birthed out of his belief that God is good, and that each of us have a story to tell, because of a Savior that redeems.
