Calvin’s Bio: 

In his two seasons leading the CHCA Football Program, Renfroe and his staff have compiled a record of 14-6, including an MVC Championship, and a birth in the OHSAA Playoffs. 

Under Renfroe’s leadership, the CHCA football program has accomplished the following:

• MVC Conference Champions (2024)

• 2 All-OHSAA Honorees

• Multiple College Football Commitments

• Numerous MVC All-Conference Honorees

• 2 MVC Conference Players of the Year

Prior to his current role at CHCA, Renfroe served as the Offensive Coordinator, Quarterbacks Coach, and Recruiting Coordinator at Olivet Nazarene University (NAIA) from 2017-2022. During his time at ONU, his offense averaged over 36 points per game, 400+ yards per game, and had an Offensive All-American & Academic All-American every season. Employing an explosive offensive attack, he led ONU to three bowl wins in five seasons and a national playoff appearance in 2020. 

Prior to joining Olivet Nazarene, Renfroe was an Executive Sales leader for Oracle and was based in Atlanta, Georgia. While there, he also coached at Johnson Ferry Christian Academy, winning the Georgia state championship in 2015 and earning two additional title game appearances. After his grandparents passed away, he had a strong conviction to enter coaching full-time and to use football as a ministry.

Renfroe played collegiate football at Trinity International University from 2003 to 2006. During his Trojan tenure, the team achieved two top-20 national rankings and earned a trip to the NAIA National Playoffs.

Renfroe's coaching philosophy is to "equip young men to rise up and become the next generation of leaders for Christ while pursuing football excellence."

Calvin and his wife Lisa live and serve in Cincinnati with their three kids Jaxson, Lyla, and Laney May.

Nathaniel has been an adjunct law professor at Northern Kentucky University, Chase College of Law, and a frequent guest lecturer at the University of Cincinnati.

He lives in Fort Thomas, Kentucky, with his wife and three children.

How do our kids really feel? You may think you are communicating enough, but do they? I sat down with Kiley, my 20-year-old daughter. The day this episode was recorded, we went to lunch. Kent Evans is the Executive Director and co-founder of Manhood Journey, a ministry that helps dads become disciple-makers. After a twenty-year career as a business leader, he embarked on biblical Fatherhood ministry projects. 

He’s appeared on television, radio, web outlets and podcasts. He’s a Christian speaker often at parenting and men’s events. He’s authored three books. The first, Wise Guys: Unlocking Hidden Wisdom from the Men Around You, was written to help men learn how to find mentors and wise counsel. 

The second, The Manhood Journey: Charting a Course to Biblical Fatherhood, aims to help dads not be good or great dads, but be godly ones. The third (coauthored with Eric Ballard), Bring Your Hammer, 28 Tools Dads Can Grab from the Book of Nehemiah, equips dads with practical fatherhood lessons from this famous Old Testament leader.

Kent’s life has been radically affected by godly mentors and his lovely wife, April. They have been married twenty-nine years and have five sons and one daughter-in-law. He lives in Louisville, Kentucky, USA.

In 2012, Sean was named CEO and has since led the company through a dynamic growth curve. This included expanding QDS’ footprint from 3 states to a regional powerhouse operating in 14 states, with more than 110 employees.

Today’s episode is a special solo episode! I just did my first silent retreat. I went to the Abbey of Gethsemani in Kentucky for a silent retreat. I was there from Monday to Thursday. During that time, I had 3 conversations. One with a monk for spiritual direction. The other 2 were with a guy from my church. The rest of the time, I was silent. I was nervous going into it. I’m an extrovert. I love to talk to people. I’m also addicted to email and social media. Yet, I unplugged. It was hard at first. Then it got easier. Then it got to the point I was scared to turn it all back on! Ha! There are tons of learnings I learned, and I am excited to share my experience with you.
