[Originally aired 7/18/25] Mary welcomes back Bible teacher, student and watchman Lee Brainard to discuss sensationalizing Bible prophecy, especially in the areas of politics and events in nature. Today, with biblical illiteracy at an all time high, it stands to reason that Christians have no meat on their bones when it comes to the systematic study of prophecy. Whereas formerly, the topics of prophecy were centered around Israel, a global government, a global spirituality and a world wide economy powered by technology, suddenly everything is prophetic, and it’s getting noisier out there. Time to bring things back into focus. And there are more blood moons coming, which means sensationalizing the heavens will also be rampant. Who is teaching this and why? We also discuss the New Wine Pentecost movement. What is it, is it biblical? Is it date setting at the core? Who is promoting it and why should we care? Sometimes following social media Bible prophecy sites more resembles a nursery rhyme than the truth. A cat, playing a fiddle, a cow and the moon makes more sense most days. Tim and Mary tentatively take on a news cycle that could change rapidly- and dramatically. It’s hard to pinpoint a time in recent history that gave us rapid-fire, game changing and game-over type events to further confuse and mystify all who behold them. Today we take on terror and proxy states and how in the world is this going to end in the Middle East? While we know plenty from Scripture, we know little about the game afoot from a political stance. But wait, there’s more: talking about 6G as something far more than the latest standing in line event for the new iPhone. It really IS a game changer if you understand the coming Beast system. We talk about Keir Starmer and the UK timeline for a national ID. It’s not like we don’t expect these things – when only a few years ago we marveled at these things. And the whole world will “marvel at the Beast” (Revelation 13:3). Nothing at all, nothing, should surprise prophecy students today, we’re just confirming what you already expected. Some day, it WiLL be “Game Over” for planet earth, ushering in the glorious, righteous kingdom of Jesus Christ.

Mary welcomes back David Bowen, founder and Sr. Pastor of Standing Stones Community Church. David is an in-demand speaker and adjunct professor of Grand Canyon University in Phoenix. He has a heart for Bible prophecy, and in 2010, he and his wife founded Interpreting the Times. His podcast, The Final Hour, is a must-listen for prophecy perspectives and for updates on the nation of Israel, including his recent trip when he spent time with the IDF. David tells us things that we would not be able to access here in the West, and it is eye-opening. The war on terror, the Israeli people just trying to scratch out their day, the soldiers, the media – it is a complex and spiritual situation that requires that the heart and mind be focused on God and His Word, not the ignorance and lies of the media that has only a portion of the story. We talk about the Nova festival, the massacre that occurred on October 7, 2023. How can the church help the people get things they need to continue this fight? David has some incredible experiences and insights to relate to us all.

Mary chats with Jim Fletcher about a prophecy in Zechariah 2 that most Christians have never looked into. In his booklet “Zechariah 2”, he fleshes out one of the most interesting passages imaginable – where prophecy intersects with modern times – and wouldn’t you know, it has to do with the creation of the modern state of Israel. Shocking! There are over 100 prophecies foretelling their regathering, is the church even listening to God on this one? Jim is one of the most articulate around when it comes to clearly expositing on this subject, one that should be dear to all our hearts. There is so much swirling around us in terms of prophetic fulfillment, and still we find far too much claimed as prophetic fulfillment that is not. Why doesn’t the church keep the main thing the main thing, with a Bible full of remarkable things to look into that we have yet to master? Jim’s 2nd, current book, “The God that Answers By Fire”, contains 7 of the greatest fulfillments related to Israel’s regathering, and a believer can camp out on those for a season to fully understand the big picture.  A full hour with one of the best Israel apologists around.

Mary welcomes speaker, author and AI expert Scott Townsend to the podcast to talk about the concerning characteristics of AI. The word “artificial” should give us our first clue as to what kind, if any, intel is within. Scott has written extensively on why we should be extremely wary of the potential delusion that comes packaged with the “illusion”. A parrot can say that 2+2 is 4, but it doesn’t know why. In a similar way, AI can spout all sorts of learned input but has no idea the physical reality. AI can tell us when certain stars or planets will be predictably in our skies, but has no knowledge of the physics in motion to make it true. We look at patterns and inference in AI, and all the ways it fails the simplest sniff tests. Also for discussion, Scott’s gracious and heartfelt open letters to pastors, to challenge them to present prophecy biblically, as well as what we see in the news that obviously points to the season of Christ’s return. How is it that they don’t even have a working knowledge of Daniel, Ezekiel and Revelation? Is their approach to ministry more temporal than looking to our sure future? A timely discussion with a true Watchman for our time.

Mary welcomes back author, speaker and blogger Jonathan Brentner whose latest book, “A Lavish Feast”, brings together Proverbs and prophecy, and the hope we have of the soon return of Christ for His church. Watching prophecy unfold is fascinating these days. Sometimes a foot is on the accelerator, and other times, we seem to be on “pause” as events play out. Meanwhile, it behooves the church to never stop studying the Bible – and not just prophecy passages, but God’s nature as well, and the over-arching view from 10,000 feet.  How does God’s plan of the ages speak to us from outside of time, space, and matter? We seek wisdom about so many passages in Scripture, but do we seek wisdom about prophecy? God is a giver of wisdom, and liberally. He already has told us via Abraham in Genesis 18 that He does not judge the righteous with the wicked. So instead of pet doctrines and dangerous teachings such as Replacement Theology and Dominion Theology, why not ask God what HE thinks, and proceed according to His revealed Word? Where is the fear of the Lord in this area, and does anyone tremble at His Word (Isaiah 66)? A very insightful look at where wisdom and prophecy intersect in the heart of the Lord. It’s all about Jesus, not our pet interpretations.

Time for another round of headlines, doing all we can to keep the cutting room floor clean. There is no end of fascinating headlines, bringing the watching types among us plenty to digest in this digest around the globe in :60. Today we look at an update on the autonomous defense systems we unpacked last week. So if defense systems have no guardrails really, why are we even trying to make Chat bots behave? Is there a double standard? Absolutely, to the absurd. We also look at the latest antisemitism, which seems to be getting bolder. Why are so many young people, with no understanding of centuries old conflicts, acting like they are righteously angry? Another topic, something to ask the nations would be, “why does every one want Israel to lose?” As though a 2 state solution is anything but death to Israel, the defender of the west and protector of the Scriptures. More ignorance all around. An update on Ukraine is in order, because it’s the epicenter of fear and loathing in Europe. Things that make us go, “what??” on today’s edition of SUFTT.

In today’s edition of SUFTT, we discuss the global attention on the nation of Israel, the only sovereign nation that seems to constantly be under the world’s microscope. As tragic as the incidences of campus antisemitism have been, this hateful ideology shows no sign of letting up. Just this week, a warning was issued for Jews and Israelis to be careful in Canada, and to limit their outward expressions of their faith and culture. This is something that many of us never thought we would see only a generation removed from the Holocaust era. What does the Bible say about this? Should the church be surprised? No, and at the very least, show increasing support for Israel and our local Jewish communities of faith, asking God what we might do to come alongside them. Then we talk about that mischievous AI, which appears to have a mind of its own in bypassing its own shut-down commands. Next, we cover the upcoming pride month by learning that many corporations are backing off from supporting that agenda, largely due to push back from the more morally minded among us. Finally, we look at paganism in the public schools, being forced on all students who find themselves unable to object. Time to hold these schools systems accountable.
