Bible Prophecy Archives - Stand Up For The Truth Podcast

Time for another batch, bundle, or horde of headlines, whatever term of venery you care to employ. As things settle down around the election outcome, Christians have to be about their Father’s business. Has anything changed relative to Bible prophecy? Of course not. Is your heart still burning for the return of Christ even with the fresh air that will probably come in January? We must remember that the more things change, the more they stay the same, so we will look at the globalists who aren’t quite in the end zone yet but it’s coming. We also look at what is happening in Syria, the Biden Pardon, the surveillance state. All that and more news of the day to help us put our eyes where they belong. Kings and Kingdoms shall all pass away, but there’s something about that Name.

Mary chats with teacher, author and prophecy expert Lee Brainard about his deep studies into the Rapture. Lee has some great insights in his book, “Ten Potent Proofs for the Pre-Trib Rapture” and it’s all in one short volume.  A great resource for those who may be confused by the genuine disdain that the church at large has developed for this viewpoint of late. And what about the incredible way the US has turned a corner on normality with the outcome of November’s election? How does that affect the time table for the rapture? After all, the globalists have been in the red zone for a while, now a nationalist has intercepted and is heading things a different direction. Does it matter? Imminency is key of course. Learn more about Israel, dispensationalism, and the rapture with answers for those who oppose the clear teaching of Scripture on this matter. An hour to challenge us all.

[Original airdate: 11/22/22] TODAY’S GUESTS: Authors, Holly Pivec and Douglas Geivett just released a new book, Counterfeit Kingdom: The Dangers of New Revelation, New Prophets, and New Age Practices on the Church. What used to be on the fringes of the church is now mainstream, and many are being influenced by it unaware. This book is a wake-up call.

Holly Pivec is an evangelical researcher of cults, sects, and new religious groups, such as the “New Apostolic Reformation” (NAR) movement. She has a master’s degree in Christian apologetics from Biola University in Southern California, where she attended and also worked. Holly and her family live in Fairbanks, Alaska.

Doug Geivett is a husband, father to two grown children, professor, author, and speaker. He has a Ph.D. in philosophy from USC and teaches at Biola University and Talbot School of Theology. Doug has written or edited several books and spoken on issues related to the New Apostolic Reformation, Christian apologetics, and the Christian life to audiences all over the world.

Is there a new reformation happening in the church? It depends on who you ask. The New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) is a popular and fast-growing new movement of Christians who emphasize signs and wonders, and teach that God is giving new revelation through new apostles and prophets. But is this biblical Christianity?

In Counterfeit Kingdom, apologists and NAR experts Holly Pivec and Douglas Geivett show how the NAR’s key tenets distort the gospel, twist the Scriptures, are influenced by New Age practices, and lead faithful Christians to shipwreck their faith. They also offer practical suggestions for readers who are already influenced by the NAR, curious about it, or concerned about loved ones who have been swept up in the movement.

On today’s headline day we look at the trajectory of antisemitism around the world. It seemed to have taken a bit of a break during the election cycle but nothing has, or will change, the current direction of antisemitism and it will get worse and worse, a tragedy and a pox upon humanity. From Amsterdam to Belgium, from sea to shining sea in the US, here we go again. And we will speak up about it and we will defend Israel with all we have because it represents the heart of God. And yet “evangelical” churches choose the wrong side in so many churches. Then we look at speaking up about bible prophecy, a great evangelical tool that again, many churches refuse to teach or speak up about. Afraid to mention the rapture? You are not alone because more than ever, you will get an eye-roll followed by a denunciation of some historical sort. And the pulpits are silent on yet again another thing. Headlines and more on today’s Stand Up for the Truth, speaking the truth about as many things as we can, of import to the church.

Here on Election Day USA we once again as a ministry whole remind the listener that elections have consequences that stretch far into the future. Until we go home to be with Jesus, we must live and do ministry in this world, under some sort of leadership. What will it be America? What will it be, church? We trust God with the outcome, of course – but we have civic responsibilities to uphold. So, a brief look today at the election regarding voting machine integrity. Then we go on to talking about the wider picture of Israel, that prophetic timepiece. Also discussed: a Russia/Iran military pact and how it will affect Israel; the world-changing recent BRICS summit and their closing Manifesto. What is BRICS and should we care in the West? A quick look at the dollar and how it is being weaponized by eastern nations, and then a look at censorship, and that elections have consequences far into the future, should the Lord tarry. Christian, this is the Home Stretch. Make it count.

Mary welcomes back Pastor Chris Quintana today for a discussion of the book of Psalms. Diverse authors, themes and style highlight this wonderful instructional book – which has also comforted many a believer down through the ages. We talk about the structure of the book that has 2461 verses, and the longest book in the bible – Psalm 119 – which is also an acrostic. One of the main authors, David, was a pivotal person in all of history but in the Scriptures, it gets personal with his laments, cries and proclamations that not only drew him closer to God, but it has become a book of hymns and prayers for us all. David’s trials have resonated with all believers at one time or another. Whether a Messianic song, a song of Thanksgiving, or a lament, the Psalms is a unique book that spans over 400 years of history and is a never-ending source of inspiration, awe, theology, and history. Pastor Chris’ online studies through the Bible are thorough and help equip the church to know God better, and to better understand the times.

Another headline day takes us straight to some core issues: a deceptive new film hitting theaters next week is up first. “The Great Warning” trailer on YouTube is presented like a teaser for those of us who love bible prophecy – but it doesn’t take long before we realize this has nothing to do with actual, authentic bible prophecy. The Catholic church is looking to warn people of events to come but their “warning” is for an event that does not appear in the Scriptures. Calling this mystical mystery tour “authentic prophecy” is flat out deception, but what they describe is to come is so bizarre and yet with the reach of Catholicism in our neighborhoods, there will be some who embrace this, so this is our “great warning” – to stay far away from this film.  Also on the list for today is, who is voting for Harris, as in, will men vote for her? Why are Christians saying they won’t vote? These stories have been trending in the headlines so we will take a look at a potential first female president and also what’s on the election docket. Then we wrap the podcast with some random headlines. Don’t be deceived!

Headline Day is always a process. A process of how to decide what stories have the most merit, and what stories can wait. There is no easy way, and this podcast is no different. So what made the cut? Well, if “weird” counts as a measure of importance, this headline is downright freakish and I think we can all agree on that part: exploding pagers. No, you can’t make that up. What happened anyway? What door of terror does this open up in the scheme of global things? Does this fit the category of “perilous times”. Yes, in spades. Welcome to a new version of warfare. Also on the schedule today, talking about the megachurch model. What need does that fill in Christendom? Any? What have we learned over the last couple decades of bigger=better? A thought provoking subject to be sure. Also, some random Big Brother hijinx. Be not unaware of the times, my brethren. It gets bumpy from here.
