Jesus explains the concept of what it means to be a Good Shepherd, and how Israel has become lost due to false shepherds (he also references Ezekiel 34). Jesus describes the sheepfold, doorkeeper (hireling), and that the fold will know their shepherd by his voice, and he will call his sheep by their name... Jesus then expounds the metaphor to His being Our Gate, yet the Pharisees still do not believe him, but some people do as he returns to the site where John the Baptist began his ministry.

In chapter 09 of the Gospel of John, we have the great story of Jesus healing a man that was blind from birth, and I discuss the potential of what that could mean ✝  We then have the Pharisees again not accepting Jesus, but the blind man going through the 'stages of acceptance' of the Savior, and Jesus stating that the Pharisees were guilty because they claimed to see, yet were blind. How many people today are guilty of the same? 😲

With this episode we begin with the Gospel of John, Chapter: 08. The story of the adulterous woman was not with the original manuscripts, and the earliest recorded history of the story by a church father was in the 12th century. Regardless it contains a good message so we cover it :)  After the story the Gospel picks up again in verse 12, where the religious leaders dispute the testimony and deity of Jesus Christ, and even though they are attempting to condemn them, Jesus tries to save them with the truth :)

Chapter 07 of the Gospel of John opens with Jesus' Brothers (James, Josas, Simon, Judas (Jude)), listen to the episode for my description. ✝ Jesus then leaves Judea for Galilee for the Jewish Festival of Shelters. Some of the people of Galilee are receptive to him, even the Levite guards, however the Jewish religious leaders continue their hesitation of them, that has increased to outright rejection.

In Chapter 06, the Apostle Paul begins with Jesus' fourth sign of feeding the 5,000. This is the only miracle that was recorded in all four gospels. Jesus then walks on water (showing his mastery over material (bread), and nature (water) to his disciple, and another miracle that is often not discussed, is that when Jesus reaches the boat after walking on water, the boat "immediately arrived at their destination." Jesus then discusses how he is the "Bread of Life" that is not well received by the local Jews, and he then states how God the Father, has predestined those who will be saved (6:37). This chapter of John contains another significant Christological discourse, so this episode is well worth listening too! :)

The Gospel of John Chapter: 05 covers the healing of the paralyzed man at the pool of Bethesda that lead to the beginning of the strong opposition of Jesus Christ, or perhaps best stated 'outright rejection.'

One of the best Christological discourses in Scripture is contained in this recording (verses 17-47), so listen closesly :)

We begin in the Gospel of John  Chapter:04 with Jesus becoming too popular. Remember that John the Baptist was very popular, and Jesus was becoming even moreso. This caused strife with the religious leaders (Pharisees & Sadducees), and Jesus would often leave a place to avoid confrontation, until the appointed time.

So Jesus left Judea for Galilee, and chose a path directly through Samaria, a people the Orthodox Jews despised.

He revealed His divinity to the Samaritan woman at the well, lead many Samaritans to the Faith, and then left for Cana and healed a nobleman's son.

In the Gospel of John Chapter 2 we cover the Wedding at Cana, Jesus' first miracle turning water to wine, Jesus clearing the temple (the first time, he cleared the temple twice during His three year ministry, this is a point of confusion for some), Jesus prophesying His Resurrection (so that only His followers would understand... the Jewish leaders of course did not).. a few scriptures referenced during the session are:

• God turning water to blood through Moses and Aaron during the first plague on Egypt (Exodus 7:14-25) -- comparing Jesus' miracle of turning water to wine

In closing I mentioned that Jesus looks for GENUINE conversion, not enthusiasm for the spectacular. Jews in the time of Jesus (remember Jesus was a DEVOUT Jew) would not believe him without a miracle, and would follow Him because He fed them, and healed them... He knew when they did not accept HIM as their Savior, and make their commitment to Him in their Faith. Thus Jesus did not accept them either.

I pray everyone that listens to the Word accepts Jesus Christ, and realized that when they reach the duality of death, their choice has already been made, so their destination is of their own choosing. Choose Well!
