  • Why Do Evangelicals Hate Unbelievers?

Christians are called to “love thy neighbor”.  Often that is interpreted, both inside and outside the church, as “let’s all get along and accept each other just as we are”. The Bible says we are called to live at peace with everyone (Rom. 12:18) and to honor and follow our elected officials (Rom. 13:1). Unbelievers wonder, why can’t evangelicals do that? Those that don’t understand Christianity or don’t accept it think that Evangelicals who openly profess their faith, hate Unbelievers… and that could not and should not be farther from the truth.

What Should the Biblical Christian Do

If one accepts, for a moment, that God is real and the Bible is His offering to mankind as a textbook for life, then how should the Biblical Christian navigate between the two components of the most important verse in the Scripture, the Greatest Commandment?

How does one love God by following His commands while, at the same time, loving our neighbors who reject many of those views?

That is the conundrum for the true believer, further compounded and clouded by our own sin nature. As God gives us Devine appointments to share His truth with a lost and dying world, we need to be confident in offering an answer to the hope we have in Christ, yet in a way that reflects God’s love, grace, and mercy.

  • Works vs. Grace - Based Salvation

Romans 10:9 That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

The importance of this topic, Salvation, cannot be overstated. It is an absolutely critical dogma of the Christian faith. It has to do with eternity in Heaven or Hell, among many other things.

There are not many theological constructs more important than Salvation.

One cannot skip over the first part of the Greatest Commandment (love God) and just do the second part (love our neighbor) and expect to be born-again or saved. However, it is equally true that we cannot just say a prayer as a youth and never change our behavior to reflect God’s will for our lives, and expect to be saved.

Salvation comes from a belief that Jesus Christ is both Savior and Lord of one’s life. To acknowledge in prayer that you are a sinner, that Christ died on the cross for your sins and rose from the grave, ask Him to forgive you of your sins and save your soul. Accept Him as your Savior and Lord and then share your decision with others.

  • A Very Different Christian view of Abortion

There is a theology I just discovered that tries to offer a cogent Biblical Christian justification for Abortion.

It begins with the view that God is omniscient (all knowing), which is true. Therefore, God knows who will abort their baby before bringing it to term. Consequently, under this view, God can choose not put a soul in that “group of cells” since He knows it will never be born. Further, even if God did allow a soul in utero, since the soul is immortal (cannot be killed) it would not die during an abortion. Finally, IF one believes in the theological concept of “age of accountability”, the worst that would happen would be the unborn baby would go immediately to Heaven to be with God for eternity. Given that a relative few of mankind will enter Heaven (Matt. 7:14), that is a pretty good deal (2 Cor. 5:8).

  • Sexual Assault and the Southern Baptists

On May 23, 2022, the independent Guidepost Solutions report detailing known sexual abuse within the denomination was published.

I am very saddened by the impact a handful of men, some with self- protection in mind and some with the best of intentions, had on deeply damaging one of the last and largest Evangelical institutions in the world. This, by allowing a personal sin nature and Satan to infect their decisions.

God will forgive those who are saved, and He is ultimately in control. But the damage these few men have done to the evangelical community in its uphill battle in support of a Biblical Christian worldview, will be enormous.

  • Are Biblical Christians Making a Difference on Social Media

My honest answer to the title of this post is that I have no idea if Biblical Christians are making a difference on Social Media. From a personal perspective, I have received both an unusually higher level of encouragement from my limited blogging (I have been on somewhat of a hiatus in the last month) as well as an increase in the number of new Christian writers asking for advice.

"Biblical Christian Worldview" is a Ministry, not a Trophy

Finally, we, as Christian bloggers, are not writing about interesting worldly stuff like scientific cutting-edge developments, nor are we playing to the predominantly liberal slant of Medium and Google search algorithms in support of woke culture. This effort is ministry, something He calls all of us to as He brings our skills and abilities in line with His will to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with a lost and dying world. Every Christian reading this post has skills and a gift God desires each of us to use to see the eternal lives of those around us changed, for eternity. Pray that He will give you the courage and conviction to apply those talents in His name. For each of us, the time is short.

Romans 11:29 - For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.

When we get to Heaven we will know then if our efforts as Biblical Christians were used by God, in the areas of Social Media and elsewhere. In the mean time....

2 Timothy 4:5 - As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

  • Faith in the Bible or our Earthly view of God

Many, over the last few months, have made understandable comments challenging the Bible as God’s primary authoritative source for communication with mankind. The latest came from a reader who stated….

“The Bible is not an authoritative source from God”, and other than... we should love one another, “the rest is just bunk… Nowhere in the bible does God say that a great book will be created for all of humanity to follow.”

  • Social Media Statistics – NBC’s Meet the Press

The longest-running show in television history, NBC’s “Meet the Press”, begins the new year with a bipartisan, fair and balanced, yet revealing special report on the negative aspects of Social Media in America today. Below, without editorial comment until the end, is a list of summary statistics and insider quotes from that broadcast.

    A Biblical Christian View
This is the world we live in today and tomorrow. However, it does not need to be where our citizenship ultimately lies (Eph. 2:8-9, Rom. 10:9).

Romans 12:2 – Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

  • Christian Nationalism Through the Lens of Albert Mohler

The subject of Christian Nationalism (What is Christian Nationalism and is it Biblical) has surfaced in some of my recent articles, on its own and as a stepping stone toward the belief we are headed toward a Christian Theocracy (Christofascist Dominionist Theocracy). More interesting than my words have been the comments from others on Medium.

Reading an article this morning from Albert Mohler, a renowned evangelical theologian and former president of the Southern Baptist Seminary in Kentucky, he expresses my opinion more clearly and succinctly than I have.  In his, “The Briefing”, Mohler offers his own response to a reader asking the question,.

  • "In God We Trust" - Printed on American Currency

A reader asked me today if the words “In God We Trust” were still being printed on American currency. Of course, the reason for the question has more to do with our increasing aversion to anything Christian being mixed into the general population. Imagine if the phrase was originally coined, “In Jesus We Trust”.

  • American Socialism – A Nation In Decline

What many Americans seem to miss is that the more we spread money around in an attempt to fix the inequities of society in the near term, the more anemic we become as a nation. There is a loss of incentive and an increase in apathy. More and more recipients of the social welfare state become dependent upon fewer and fewer "donors" and everyone loses in the end. The number of Americans receiving some form of governmental assistance jumped “to the whopping 29 percent… in 2020 – more than double what it was in 1996”. In 2022, approximately 22% of the federal budget accounted for some form of welfare assistance.
