  • The Simple Truth of Today’s Evangelism

Where should we draw the line in sharing God's truth?

God calls us to tell others about Him and what His Son did on the cross by paying for our sins so that those who see Jesus as Lord and Savior would be saved for eternity. As teachers or proclaimers of that truth, we need to be careful that we help seekers find God, rather than drive a deeper wedge into their resistance toward Him.

  • Tune Into God

Our verse for today comes from Genesis 11:6, " And the Lord said, 'Behold, they are one people, and they have all one language, and this is only the beginning of what they will do. And nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for them.' "

As we seek Him today, ask God to make you in tune with His purpose for you. See if the towers you have built are keeping you from doing the work He has for you.

  • Who Should Teach Christian Theology?

There is a weight on the shoulders of those who make the choice to teach God's Word.

There are verses, stories, parables, and truths in the Bible that elicit a wide range of emotions from its readers. There is the love chapter of 1 Cor. 13 that offers insight into God’s love for us and what our love toward our neighbor should be. There is the book of Revelation that offers a scary vision of what is to come, especially for unbelievers. There is Genesis 1 that opens the door to God’s power of creation, and Genesis 3, the fall of man, which has put us in the state we are in today. The list goes on and on as one walks through Scripture. For me, there is a set of verses that I take very seriously, having to do with the responsibility of teachers of God’s word. Like it or not, when you hold yourself out as more than a student of God’s Word, the stakes are higher. I know my theology is flawed, and I regularly ask God to forgive, clarify, and correct those errors. Further, I remain a sinner held in the hands of Christ, His crucifixion, and resurrection.

  • Be A Good Witness

Our verse for today comes from Acts 1:8, “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

As we seek Him today, be the witness that you already are by the power of His Spirit, and show others what Jesus is like.

  • Religious Freedom Under Attack in Finland – Who Cares?

There is a trial going on in the small country of Finland, 5k miles from us. Located in northern Europe, it shares borders with Sweden to the west, Russia to the east, and Norway to the north. Similar to the United States, the government is a “representative democracy” where leaders are voted into office by the populace. According to the Family Research Council (FNC), “Finland is a European liberal democracy that ostensibly promises its citizens basic human rights such as freedom of speech, religion, assembly, equality under the law, property rights, among others.”

  • Reflect Jesus

Our verse for today comes from Acts 1:6, “Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, ‘Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?’”

As we seek Him today, don’t compare yourself to others around you. Focus on knowing and loving and reflecting Jesus.

  • A Hollow Walk With God

Our verse for today comes from 1 Samuel 16:7, " But the Lord said to Samuel, 'Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.' "

As we seek Him today, be honest about where you are with God. Consider whether some of your walk with Him might be hollow or lacking. Use this reflection to come to Him empty and honest, and let your heart be renewed in His presence.

  • "My Hope is Built on Nothing Less"

In 1834, Edward Mote wrote the lyrics to this hymn sometime after finding his faith in a chapel service in London at age 15. It was not put to music and published until 1863, and appeared in the Devotional and Tune Book the following year.

It speaks to the reality that as Biblical Christians, we need to continue to rely on Christ as the foundation of our faith in the battle over continuing sin.

  • Does Christianity Lower Divorce Rates - Revisiting the Statistics

Becoming a “Christian” is supposed to be a life-changing experience (2 Cor. 5:17). Through the Holy Spirit, as our “Counselor” (John 14:16–17), Christians move through a process of sanctification, learning about God, what He expects of us, and drawing closer to Him. Though Christians continue to sin, we should be convicted and repent of those practices, and, as such, should better display the “fruits of the Spirit” which includes “self-control” (Gal. 5:22–23). If true, then one should expect evidence in various aspects of life.

This is the first in a series of articles looking at the differences between the general population and Biblical Christians in America. In the future, we will explore topics such as incarcerations, recidivism, juvenile delinquency, domestic violence, and crime in general. This first article is on the divorce rates between Christians and non-Christians. Is there a difference?

IT SEEMS THAT “EVANGELICAL CHRISTIANS” ACTUALLY HAVE A DIVORCE RATE OF ONLY 26% AS COMPARED TO THE GENERAL POPULATION OF 33%.

  • Let Jesus Talk For You

Our verse for today comes from John 21:25, “And there are also many other things that Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written.”

As we seek Him today, let Jesus do more of the talking for you, and find out what He has to say.
