Big at the Back: A Fantasy Football Podcast (FPL)

After a thrilling climax to the Premier League season, Tom and Matt are back to discuss all the action from the final day as Man City came from two goals down to beat Aston Villa and win the league at Liverpool's expense. We also discuss the relegation scrap as Burnley's time in the Premier League has come to an end and Leeds survived thanks to a 2-1 win over Brentford.  

Once we have finished talking about the final day, we look back at the season as a whole, and give out our Big at the Back FPL awards, which are much more prestiguous than the PFA awards!   

We finish off with a quick look ahead to next season as we each pick five players that we are looking forward to owning at the start of the 2022/23 season.

Tom and Matt are back in the middle of GW37 as we head toward the final weekend of the Premier League Season.  

Before we start with the FPL chat, we wanted to share our support for the LGBTQ+ community in the wake Jake Daniels' coming out, and some of the comments that we have seen on Twitter over the last 48 hours.  

We then take a much less serious turn as we review our GW37 performance so far, as Tom's attempt to make fantasy fun again with his Free Hit has paid off very well!   

Then it's time to look ahead to GW38 and the final games of the season with plenty still to play for at both ends of the league as the Title race, European spots, and Relegation are all still alive.  

We finish off with Matt's revenge on Tom as he has an FPL themed quiz to round out the episode.

We are back after the first half of DGW36 to look back on the results so far. 

Liverpool seem to have lost their chance at the title after only managing a 1-1 draw with Liverpool, before bouncing back with a 2-1 win at Villa Park, while Man City were rampant in a 5-0 win over Newcastle. Brighton heaped more misery on Man United with a 4-0 win, and the relgation battle takes another twist as Everton win a game away from home!   

We then turn our attention to GW37, with doubles for Aston Villa, Burnley, Crystal Palace, Everton, and Leicester. With both of us playing our Free Hit this week, we each go through our drafts as they stand so far.

After a more than painful GW35, Tom and Matt do their best to forget about it entirely, and instead look forward to a huge DGW36.   

There are big doubles in the race for the title, the pursuit of the top 4, and the relegation battle as we continue to head towards at break neck speed. We look at the key battles at both ends of the table, and who we will be looking to bring in for the last couple of weeks as the season as we scramble for the final precious points.

Tom makes his non-awaited return from Greece to join Matt and discuss the fallout from GW34.   

We discuss all of the talking points from the weekend's games, including Gabriel Jesus scoring 4, Robertson and Alonso both scoring big points, and James Ward-Prowse showing his class once again. Even Joelinton managed to bag a brace!   

We then take a look ahead to GW35 and talk about our transfer plans for the week ahead, with one eye also turned to DGW36.  

We finish off with our predictions for the title race, european places, and relegation battle!

With Tom away in Greece, Matt takes the reigns on this (mostly) solo episode as we look back at DGW33, and ahead to GW34.  

DGW33 saw all Spurs assets blanking, a Ronaldo hat-trick against Norwich, Arsenal going from rags to riches in their two fixtures, Bruno Guimaraes haul, and Wout Weghorst finally breaking his Premier League drought!   

As we go in to GW34 which sees doubles for Chelsea and Man United, which assets should you be bringing in for the final few weeks of the season?

We're back after a big scoring GW32 to discuss all things FPL!   As Spurs and Chelsea both scored big points, there were standout performances from the usual suspects in Son and Kane, and even Timo Werner got himself a big haul! Brentford continued their good form with Toney and Mbuemo combining like it's September all over again, and Everton bounced back at home, beating Man U 1-0.  

We then turn our attention to DGW33 as Arsenal, Brighton, Burnley, Leicester, Man U, Newcastle and Southampton all double, while there are blanks for Villa, Leeds, and Wolves. Is it worth using a chip this week, or saving it for later in the season? Tom and Matt will give you their thoughts!  

We finish off with a bit of fun, as Tom has a short FPL based quiz for Matt, play along and see if you can beat his score!

Tom and Matt are back to discuss another crazy week in FPL in which Mo Salah blanked at home to Watford, with FPL managers everywhere crying in to their pints.   

The weekend also saw Harry Kane only pick up one assist as Spurs fired 5 past Newcastle, with Son and Doherty both picking up big points. Chelsea capitulated after taking the lead against Brentford, Arsenal were blown away by Crystal Palace, and Frank Lampard's Everton edge closer to the bottom three in defeat to West Ham thanks to a returning Jarrod Bowen.

We then turn our attention to the upcoming GW32, and in particular, the huge title decider at the Etihad on Sunday afternoon, as Man City host second place Liverpool.

Tom and Matt are back in the middle of the international break to focus on the return of proper football this weekend! 

We take an in depth look at the upcoming GW31 as we discuss each fixture, and who we think you should be targeting for the big returns this week. Will Burnley's DGW actually pay off this time? Will Harry Kane continue his run of five 10+ point haul GWs in a row? Will Mo Salah continue his incredible record against Watford?

We then look a little bit further ahead as we discuss our chip strategies for the remainder of the season as we discuss the pros and cons of Free Hitting in DGW33.

Tom and Matt are back after a very hit and miss BGW30. Managers were left frustrated by Ramsdale's injury, Raphinha's Covid, and Jimenez's red card. Meanwhile, Son and Kane combined again for hauls, and Bukayo Saka returned once again.  

We then take some time to reflect on our season's so far, as we each give our Fantasy XI of the season. These aren't the players that have returned the most points for us, but the players we have each enjoyed owning the most in what has been at times a very frustrating season.
