What a coincidence, divas!
As Tom went to “get a cable”, so Chris (of his many coincidences) and Rich (of his many bitches) have kindly agreed to fill in as Holly’s husbands for the week on Little Diva Energy.
Left to their own devices, she and the boys enjoy a wide-ranging natter (though never so wide-ranging it’s more than one segue from a Nolan) through all the week’s big Diva news.
Holly and Rich (@RichHawkins) team up to celebrate two other big collaborations this week: every misogynist’s favourite female sexuality empowerment anthem, ‘WAP’ and Madonna (Happy Birthday, babe) showing up, alongside Missy, on the glorious new Dua Lipa track, ‘Levitating’.
Meanwhile, Chris (@ChrisA) attempts to bring every conversation back around to the Nolan Sisters (with moderate success).
Stay tuned as well, Divas, because Holly & Chris have a big announcement to make about Out for Blood, the brand new podcast from the makers of Big Diva Energy, coming at you in Autumn 2020.
(N.B. Apologies for some sound issues this week. You honestly leave these people alone for 5 minutes… At least they weren’t eating I suppose.)
Meanwhile, watch Seth Rudetski’s The Comeback reunion here.
And find out when new friend-of-the-pod, Peter Michael Marino is next performing Desperately Seeking the Exit here.

Divas are forevAH!
That’s right, darlings, this is not a drill. This is no George Lazenby nonsense; oh no, this is a true Connery film of the Diva-verse.
Please welcome to the stage: DAME Shirley Bassey!
(Although her friends just call her “Dame Shirley Bassey”.)
In the first of a much deserved two-parter, we delve into the incredible early life of that most glamorous of divas with the utterly fabulous Paul Joseph - DJ, producer and official “Friend of Dame Shirley”.
Join us, as we delve into the early life of The Girl from Tiger Bay and her ascent to arch-demander of pink champagne.
Along the way we get mad about Madge (again), talk future COVID-parties and why horror queens need those nuclear codes.
Dr No she better don’t!

Divas! SO sorry we’re late. Can’t believe we kept you waiting. Can you forgive?
This week’s ep is a little behind schedule, but only because the Divas are on the move - bringing you the bravest journalism from the frontline - as Holly & Tom travel into the eye of the storm and visit the Enfrosted North of England, so you don’t have to.
But that doesn’t stem the tide of takes, because the Diva-verse is shook. There has been (in Holly’s words) a “rat sanger” of new music dropped this fortnight: Queen B unveiled the sonic cinema of Black is King, Tay Tay got back to her “roots” on Folklore and Princess Kylie dropped a club banger with ‘Say Something’.
So…big week.
And that’s not even including Rich’s Bitch, Chris’ Coincidence or a Diva of the Week first!
Please bear with the slight rambly-ness (must be the fresh air), but hope you enjoy this Countryfile-inspired episode of Little Diva Energy.

Come Alive, Divas!
We’re back for Part the Second, with Anoushka Lucas, talking about the incredible Janelle Monáe and, this week, we’re actually covering her career!
Join Holly & Tom as they take Noush on a deep-dive that begins with Janelle’s introduction of android-diva doppelgänger Cindi Mayweather and counts backward from the year 2719 as Janelle gradually sheds the ego in favour of the id, trampling all over genre boundaries as she goes.
Along the way, the gang learn about Tom getting abandoned at an OutKast gig, the power of the pop-star alter-ego (aka Harry Styles’ Fashion) and a lorra lorra chat about bombastic Biblical biopera, Jesus Christ Superstar.

Héllö divas,
It’s a quiet week for the Big Hitters, but Holly and Tom manage to find some serious Diva news all the same (largely consisting of them bitching about the Nolan sisters or accusing Prince Andrew of fucking kids).
There is some Royal news and several shouts out to “friends of the pod” but hope all you divas have a basic shoe in the door before you can say, “regional touring production of Blood Brothers”.
We, of course, have a flawless bitch from Rich while Chris achieves Double Coincidence [DC] status.

The House of Opportuniteez is back, bitches!
Through a hateful combination of scheduling and salmonella, KOK has been held for a few weeks.
But, apart from an enjoyable Snatch Game of Love episode, absolutely nothing has happened in RPDRAS5 that can’t be summed up in hour’s worth of chat masquerading as a podcast.
So, prepare yourself for a whole new hour of reading RuPaul Charles for filth, stanning Shea Coulee and even more 19th Century European nobility references.

Dance apocalyptic android divas!
This week we’ve got an absolute humdinger for you as we delve into the life and works of Kansas City sensation, Janelle Monáe Robinson. With Holly and Tom this episode to discuss the Electric Lady is another extraordinary talent: phenomenally eloquent, hilarious and all-round music machine, it’s singer and songwriter, Anoushka Lucas!
Join all three as they delve into Janelle’s background as a disappointed potential High School Dorothy, the conception of the iconic black & white “uniform” and her journey from the midwest to the booming music scene of Atlanta, Georgia.
Along the way, Anoushka comes to regret not choosing Dolly Parton as her subject, the three plot out a 6-part Netflix miniseries in which Beyoncé takes the White House and they all wax lyrical about the joy of chicken & waffles.

Back from the brink, Divas!
Tom spent a week in confinement, while Holly ran ragged nursing him back to health, as all hell broke loose in his bowels (hence no KOK last week). But he’s back on his feet and the couple are ready to get chatting about divas once again.
That said, the humours are perhaps somewhat out of balance on the ward, so some hot takes are a blowin’. Things get a bit serious as Holly & Tom dip their toes into the J.K. Rowling debate, and get all academic about witches. But don’t worry because Jess Glynne has made an absolute tit of herself this week. So…swings and roundabouts.
We’ve also got all the old faithfuls, including a coincidence from Chris and Rich’s Bitch.
Hope you enjoy it. If not, #lookatthesky.

We all have levels of performance Divas,
And, this particular episode, we are giving you exactly what you want. We are, of course, returning to Dame Angela Lansbury and, let us tell you - this is what you call range.
Lovely, lovely Becks Humphries is back to discuss the Dame herself as we dive into the big musical theatre roles that defined her and, of course, THAT exercise video.
Along the way, we examine the almost-cancelling that Ange received recently, what Johnny Depp does when Helena Bonham-Carter and Tim Burton are having a blow-up on set and - realistically - who should play Ursula in the live action Little Mermaid.
Obsessed.

TRIGGER WARNING: If you are triggered by either some pretty fruity language or the death of the Romanov children (honestly) then this might not be the episode for you.
Otherwise, Divas, please welcome to the floor, the newly formed House of Opportuniteez!
The incomparable Reuben Kaye once more swings by on the Zoom, to dive with Holly & Tom into a particularly meh episode of Drag Race All Stars.
