The Insurance Bureau of Canada said natural disaster claims cost a record 8.5 billion dollars in 2024 due to the increased frequency and severity of weather-related losses. Now Canada’s insurance sector is talking about the potential for the country to become uninsurable in 10 years, due to insufficient policy action on escalating climate disasters.
