    Title: Trouble Won't Wait
    Subtitle: Love-n-Trouble, Book 2
    Author: Autumn Piper
    Narrator: Susanna Burney
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 8 hrs and 48 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 04-17-17
    Publisher: April Larrechea
    Genres: Romance, Contemporary
    Publisher's Summary:
Good things may come to those who wait, but trouble waits for no one....
Cheating is a dealbreaker...or so Mandy has always thought. But when she catches her husband getting some "strange", she realizes how hard it is to cut and run, or even file papers. She agrees to a month of counseling, which will give her time to grieve the loss of her marriage before she has to tell the world-and the kids. Then she meets Adam, who gives her a hunky, if mysterious, shoulder to cry on, and that 30-day waiting period seems like an eternity.
Adam has no problem confessing that he's watched Mandy from his window for months as she runs by his house. If he told her why, though, she'd freak out for sure. He knows they've got a future together, if he can think of a way to explain his past. And he's sure the rat-bastard who cheated on her is putting the moves on her again, but he won't be the revenge guy. The month-long cooling off period she agreed to is lasting forever, and might just be indefinite, if trouble keeps getting in their way.
Content warning: Eccentric old lady pushing salt-of-the-earth advice, bossy big brother, kooky counselor, super-secretive hunk, and perfect justice served amidst adult situations and language.

Filled with awesome writing, dialog and characters.
This book drew me in from the first line, something that almost always tells me I'm going to enjoy it. I wasn't disappointed. The characters and dialog were believable and relatable. It is chock full of awesome writing and delightful characters. Mandy struggles to balance the undeniable end of her marriage against her love for her husband Mike, whom she married nearly fifteen years ago. Meeting Adam, the intriguing stranger, the day after discovering her husband's infidelity had to be fate. Autumn did an exceptional job of portraying the anxiety, fear, frustration and desire her still-married heroine faced as she came to terms with her husband's cheating ways. I picked this book up and couldn't put it down.
    Trouble Won't Wait
I loved this book. It normally takes me a few weeks to get through a book. Its not because I am slow at reading or anything like that. I am a working mother and have to find time to read. I started Trouble Won't Wait and I had a hard time putting it down. The character caught my attention from the very beginning. I finished it in 3 days. Very well written. Awesome job Autumn!!! I cant hardly wait to see what you write next. Thank you!!!!
    Her marriage...her decision
Trouble Won't Wait drew me into a story about one woman's journey through ending a 13-year marriage and discovering a new love. Autum Piper made Mandy, Adam, and even filandering Mike so real that I laughed with them, felt their sorrow and shame, and was lifted by their hope as their lives tangle into an endearing tale of give and take, betrayal and trust.
Adam isn't perfect. He's pushy and demanding and kind of stalkery. But he's also genuine and caring and very, very patient. What Mandy feels for him is new and realistic in light of the problems she's having in her marriage...yes, you heard me, her marriage. And Adam isn't her husband.
There's infidelity in this one, folks, but it's not what you might think, and it's done superbly. Trouble Won't Wait is one of my favorite reads of 2012.

A pair of lonely people find each other
This wasn't a bad book by any means but it felt very heavy. For a romance it seemed curiously lacking in real joy until the very end.
The tone of the book is set somewhat by Catherine. She lives a half-life, sad about her inability to have children and abandoned by her husband because of it.
And then there is Joe and his youngest daughter Fitz. Joe's wife was killed in a car accident and his youngest daughter, seven-year-old Fitz is having emotional issues because of it.
Joe, Fitz and Catherine's lives intersect over a mother/child figurine that Catherine purchases on impulse. The figurine was actually owned by Joe but he sold it because he was short on cash. But Fitz was very attached to the figurine and wants it back.
I get the feeling that I was supposed to be happy that this lonely woman and this damaged man and child found each other. But I just found them to be somewhat enervating. They didn't lift me at all, on the contrary I found them somewhat wearing. Joe and Catherine, after a few head-butting moments, figure out that they really like each other and then they become lovers. The problem with the story is that there was no real conflict for them.
So we are left with filler and secondary characters that shift focus from the decidedly subdued romance. First there is Catherine's job. She works as a counselor? Den Mother? Life Coach? To a group of pre-teen pregnant girls who are given a sort of area-51 zone in their school where only Catherine and one other teacher work with them. These girls are young, yet hardened by life and their circumstances. Oh, btw, the other teacher has Cancer and her husband left her because of it (see....heavy).
Second is Joe's family. He has a predatory sister-in-law. A Clueless brother. And his oldest teenaged daughter, Delia, who acts as the primary obstacle in keeping Joe and Catherine apart. Normally I would find Delia's actions compelling, because children objecting to a new boyfriend/girlfriend can act as a definite obstacle.

    Publisher's Summary:
Sweeping from the Great War, through the Jazz Age to the 1940s, this unforgettable tale follows the entwined lives of the Fentons, an aristocratic family from Yorkshire.
Thea, the eldest daughter of Viscount Gilbert Fenton, flouts the unwritten rules of her class by embarking on a love affair with Hal, the fiercely socialist son of one of her father's tenant farmers.
Carrie, her close childhood friend and granddaughter of the Viscount's nanny, has always been expected to marry Hal - but when she goes into service she finds herself longing for the one person she can never hope to marry.
Olivia, the middle Fenton sister, follows a more conventional path, forging friendships with the British royal family and attending a finishing school in Germany. Her relationship with Count von der Schulenburg does not raise eyebrows, but as the mid-1930s approach, she finds herself in a country experiencing rapid, radical and dangerous social change.
Violet, the youngest of the Fenton sisters, is also the most reckless. She dreams of becoming an actress in Hollywood, unaware her life will be filled with more drama than any part she will ever play.
And then there is Rozalind, their American cousin, who is secretly in love with a married US Senator. Her ambitions to become a photojournalist will also take her into the heart of Hitler's Germany.
Set against the rich canvas of the first half of the twentieth century, A Season of Secrets is an unforgettable tale of passion and betrayal, love and war from the ever popular Margaret Pemberton.

    Exceeds expectations
I thought this would be a bland easy listen but I was very wrong. I really, really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to others. I also feel there is a second story and would be happy to read /hear what happened next.
The characters are rather Mitford esque although with a more acceptable political viewpoint. In all honestly I didn't care all that much about most of the characters however the ones I did kept my interest in the storyline and knitted it all together. The characters were well rounded, very individual and I was surprised by how much they evolved. The narrator did a good job in conveying each separate personality and her reading was pleasant to listen to.
My only criticism is that the pace was rather fast, the timespan past quickly and the focus jumps to quickly from character to character. This might have been made better as a series of books.
    Best Audiobook I've listened to
Fabulous story - brilliant narrator. Can't recommend enough. Rare to find a narrator with such a range of accents - all flawless. A pleasure to listen to
    BRILLIANT
Full of suspence and drama a great book loved it. want to try other booms by Margaret Pemberton.
    A wonderful book
Great characters, great story and superbly read, each character's voice being very distinctive, despite having several different female characters.
    Brilliant Story beautifully narrated !!!
Absolutely loved this book ! Beautifully written and a real depth of understanding of all the characters !!!!!! The narration was also superb !!!!! Highly recommend to anyone who likes a period drama !!!!!!!

Curl up on your favorite chair with a glass of wine and a box of tissues. This sweet old fashioned romance will tug at your heart strings and leave you fanning yourself at the same time.
Julie Turner was always a focused and accomplished young woman. Graduating with honors from USC and finishing law school early, it seemed her life was set according to plans. A plan to reunite 20 years in the future.

    Very fast enjoyable read.
I loved the book being centered in California. It makes it so much fun visualizing all of the places the characters frequented in San Diego. It also made one think about the decisions we make on assumptions and how different our lives turn out because of those decisions.
"AN AFFAIR AND A PROMISE " If you love romance novels, you must read this one! 5 Star Rating
Ms. Grace has written "Murder in Monterey" and "Murder in Carmel" which I immensely enjoyed reading and recommend both!
But "AN AFFAIR AN A PROMISE" is the kind of love novel with a spin full of emotions that you'll find it difficult to put down... It's pages are centered around a young college girl named Julie Turner as she steps into the real world of life which brings her challenges, opportunities, obligations, heartbreak and love, struggling at times to make the right choices... She learns that assumptions can also become life changing events. These pages are steamy at times and gets very descriptive. Can Julie find that true loving warmth of Sunshine in a world that feels cruel and cold at times? I won't say except, this book is a keeper!!
    Tantalizing
All I can say is that if you are the type that loved 50 shades of grey, this is for you! I found myself squirming in my recliner while consumed in this tantalizing journey.

I had always been the type of girl that followed the rules. "Stick to the plan, Kat," is what I always told myself. I was never a risk taker or chanced anything to fate. That's until I was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. All of my hopes, dreams, and aspirations fell by the wayside. I was dying. What else did I have to look forward to? Definitely not love.
That's until Lee Daniels came tapping at my window.
Determined to push him away, the jerk kept coming back, over and over and over. There was no way I was going to give my heart to a man that would eventually leave me worse then I already was.
But he didn't see it that way. He saw strength, determination, and a stubborn woman ready to give up on love. Why wouldn't he just let me give up? For one very simple reason.
Love, my friends. An unimaginable love. A love that didn't require rules, stipulations, or even expectations. A love filled with dancing on Mardi Gras floats, three a.m. breakfast sessions, and swimming with pigs in the Bahamas. That's my kind of love, and it all started with a stupid paper crane.
Perhaps it was time to take chances because...if not now, then when?

A different opinion, I didn't like this book
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
A few things. The narrator did not do a very good job differentiating between the female voices unless she was attempting an older lady. The story was too forced and didn't really feel authentic.
Would you ever listen to anything by Nicole Hite again?
    Probably not
How did the narrator detract from the book?
She did a decent job with Kat's voice, but like I said above, she seemed to struggle with different female voices. And her voice for Lee was horrible.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
DIssapointment. This story could have been an amazing novel. It turned into a LIfetime movie.
    Any additional comments?
    My Goodreads/Amazon review:
So my thoughts on this book are going to be a little different than all the positive reviews I've read. I bought this book via Audible so I listened to the audio version.
I felt like I was in a Lifetime Movie. I really did. Although ALS is nothing to make light of, I felt the author, in an attempt to make people understand the severity of the disease, failed at a well-written novel. This was a Public Service Announcement for ALS.
Was Kat and Lee's journey compelling? No, I did not think so. It was too forced, it was too predictable and it was overly dramatic. There was no real character development. We are told that Kat had a tough childhood, that she was raised by Jojo's parents. We are told this, but in the last half of the book, Jojo disappears. She's not even mentioned after she attends the ALS support group meeting and Lee confesses he will not let Kat go. I mean she literally disappears from the story. She was sitting there one minute holding Kat's hand and then is no longer even mentioned again.
The HEA is too contrived. It is too unrealistic, and it is just not what I was expecting. Give the reality of this disease, not this fairytale If you are going to preach to the audience about pharmaceutical companies and their lack of investment in ALS research, then make it more about the story and less about the author's opinion on the matter.
I wish this author had written a novel about a true struggle.
