Binge Media

Here’s our final commentary for Return of the Jedi!  This time Law and I invite one half of the Sounder Twins, PeteMC, to tackle the fun and gloriousness of Episode VI.  Listen as our disappointment increases at what a sissy Han Solo becomes; laugh with us as R2D2 forgets that he can fly; marvel at the fact that Pete might’ve drank his own piss.

Enjoy!

For those complaining that Fargo hasn’t had enough “crash, bang, wallup” violence, well you have that 10 fold now. Haha, just kidding, nobody’s complaining about that.  Congrats to Fargo showrunner, Patrick Wilson and Kirsten Dunst for their well earned Golden Globe nominations.  Ok then?  Ok then.

How did you feel about this episode of Fargo?

Welcome back to yet another addition to Binge Media’s Star Wars coverage. Though at this point, we are all getting exhausted of it. My bosses have dropped hints there is a little too much of The Force. Jason is more annoyed than usual. Even Anonymous Announcer Guy loses it in this week’s intro. Let’s not sever ties, though. Star Wars is on all of our minds, as the new addition to the universe is merely days away from being released. So of course Jason and I HAD to bring lead Adventure Amigo David Mayne in to finish discussing the released Star Wars features, specifically Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. We also predict what to expect from a little movie coming out called Star Wars Episode VII The Force Awakens.

Some things discussed:

How is the prequel trilogy like Indiana Jones 4?

How bad is Portman in this series?

Can the final half of Revenge of the Sith make up for a lackluster prior movie and a half?

How much are we looking forward to The Force Awakens?

Will Jason’s nightmare of discussing this franchise ever end?

Will Luke be bad?

Is the practical effects vs CGI factor THAT big of a factor?

Until December 18th knocks us on our asses, may the Force, and the beer, be with you.

Attack of the Clones – 5.5/10, 6.5/10, 6/10

Revenge of the Sith – 8/10, 5/10, 8/10

There’s an influx of requests, as per usual, around this time of the year at the dildo factory, so Jim Law has to take the weekend off to slap them in his face (part of his gig).  Moreno and Ammon bring Batch into the fold to fill the Canadian Affirmative Action plan.

Google voice has reviews of Chiraq, In the Heart of the Sea, and some TV suggestions.

We review last week’s Movie Homework, A Christmas Story.

TV Round Up has the boys talking Jessica Jones, Supergirl, Fargo and Real Rob.

Creed, Mid-Atlantic Memories and San Andreas are reviewed, as well as Alexandra Diaddario’s boobies.

We have 2 new segments:  Aggressive Movie Reviews and Accent Movie Reviews, in which we review a movie in horrible accents.   This week’s Accent Movie Review is for the documentary Electric Boogaloo: The Wild, Untold Story of Cannon Films.

Stay tuned, or fast forward, to the end of the podcast to hear Kupka’s full, intense and poignant review of Chiraq. For real.

Holy balls.  With the help of /r/FargoTV, we delve deep into the timeline of this episode (and episode 7), the significance of Hanzee’s hair and some Fargo and Coen Bros connections.  I also drunkenly lay out my Hanzee crackpot theory. Get drunk. Listen. Shut up (don’t shut up).

What happens when you get four drunk Bingers (Bingers?), three of them are Supka’d, one of them is ACTUALLY Supka and throw on Empire Strikes Back?  Another BingeCast commentary of course!

In this installment, the boys try to figure out what Cloud City actually is, why Lando is smooth, if Luke actually sped up Yoda’s dying process and more.

I wish I remembered more.

Enjoy!

Welcome to week two of The Binge Movie Aftertaste’s three plus week Star Wars retrospective. Here, Jason Morris and I once again welcome Adventure Amigos‘ own David Mayne to go over Episodes 6 and 1, Return of the Jedi and The Phantom Menace respectfully. In going through the trenches of this space fantasy franchise, Jason has become gradually more annoyed, with Dave and I sometimes praising it too much. But our senses will be put to the test this week, as we find out whether even Dave and I can defend the Ewoks and Jar Jar. Or, will Jason surprise us all and be the defender?

Grab your beer and get ready to shift through this continuous look at the saga that began it all.

Return of the Jedi – 9/10, 7.5/10, 8/10

The Phantom Menace – 4/10, 6/10, 6.5/10

This is the first and only warning you will receive: IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN CREED, DO NOT LISTEN TO THAT PORTION OF THE SHOW! The review is full of spoilers and starts just after the 34:00 mark, so consider yourself warned.

For the first half hour of the show, however, I am talking some sports, you know, because it’s a sports show. The biggest story for me this week was the announcement that Kobe Bryant, one of my favorite players of all-time, is retiring, so I give my thoughts on that and ask my guest for the week, Garrett Collins, what the vibe is like in LA right now.

We also get into my thoughts on the 19-0 start of the Golden State Warriors, and if they can surpass the 72-10 mark of the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls, which makes both of us feel really old, and then we discuss the Fury-Klitschko fight from this past weekend before getting into the bulk of the show, which is a spoiler-filled (there, I gave you another one) review of the newest edition in the Rocky franchise, Creed. If you haven’t been keeping up with this podcast series, Garrett has had me on his show, the Binge Movie Aftertaste, for three different editions where we discuss the first six films, and after seeing this film, we just had to finish it up, and we’re damn glad we did. Here’s the links to the first three shows.

Rocky & Rocky II

Rocky III & Rocky IV

Rocky V & Rocky Balboa

It’s been an absolute blast doing these shows, as this is easily my favorite movie franchise, and this particular show was no different. We break down as many parts of the film as we can, even though we probably forgot something because we both got so wrapped up in each and every aspect of this movie. If you’ve seen Creed, you’ll love this podcast. If not, get on that quickly and come on back. How much did we like it? Well, for the ratings and our final breakdown of the series, I guess you’ll just have to listen. Enjoy.
