  • Binge Movie Aftertaste – Star Wars Retrospective w/ David Mayne Pt 1
One thing I have noticed around Binge Media is the lack of Star Wars coverage. So what did I do? After being away from each other’s microphonic paths (eww) for more than a year, the head of my former internet home Adventure Amigos himself, Dave Mayne, has brought his Star Wars (and beer oriented) knowledge and fandom with him for this series of three Binge Movie Aftertastes. Just like Luke Norris and I did with Rocky, Dave is joining myself and the lovely Jason Morris on an epic journey through the Star Wars franchise. all ending with an epic review of The Force Awakens, coming your way December 19th from Walt Disney Pictures.
For this first show, we will look at Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back. Setting the stage for the next thirty five plus years, the first two films of the franchise are generally looked at as the best of the series. But do we think so?
    Some things we cover:
Why does Obi Wan Kenobi sacrifice himself while in battle with Darth Vader on the Death Star?
What was Han doing before joining the rebels?
Why is Yoda so high when we first meet him in Empire?
Why is Luke so damn whiny?
    Colt .45, anyone?
Why does Jason’s son know more about this franchise than all three of us?
Why doesn’t Chewbacca get a fucking medal at the end of Star Wars?!
What in one of our opinions is the best performance of the entire series?
Who does Jason consider to be the stupidest characters in the whole saga (hint: it’s NOT the stormtroopers).
Why did Jason watch the saga out of order?
So strap yourselves in and get ready for another ride down Star Wars lane. Don’t forget to check out all of Dave’s douchebaggery on the Adventure Amigos and myriad of podcasts on Dark Barn Radio.
    Star Wars: 9/10, 9.9/10, 7/10
    The Empire Strikes Back: 10/10, 10/10, 7/10

  • BingeCast: TV Round Up – Fargo Commentary S2 Ep 7
Native Moreno has a lot on his hands if we wants to go up against Mike Milligan, who showed cunning, badassery, and a recitation of some French poem or something in this episode. What I’m trying to say is that he’s a renaissance man.  The endless theories of how this season can possibly come to a head has our minds working over time. Which isn’t saying much since we cry trying to think of the last time we showered.  Anyway, enjoy.

  • The BingeCast Commentary – Star Wars Episode IV: The New Hope
Here we are again Bingers. Halfway done. Halfway there. Halfway….to the Force Awakening.
The relatives have left. The leftovers are gone. The football is over.
Why not settle in for a brand new Binge Star Wars commentary?
Join Garrett (for about an hour. Slacker), Jack Valley, and Batch as they wax & blab while watching Star Wars Episode IV: The New Hope. Or as it is really called, Star Wars.
There is no doubt Star Wars changed cinema forever. But how did it change our lives, and why is Jack looking for Tom Brady in the medal ceremony? Find out in this grand addition to the Binge Commentary bin, and be on the look out for The Empire Strikes Back next week.

  • BingeCast: Creed, Jessica Jones, Criminal Activities, Fargo, and more
There’s no time to mess around this week as we get to the good straight away. Garrett is in house to review CREED and CRIMINAL ACTIVITIES. One of these is better than the other.
TV Round-Up overflows with talk of Fargo, Ash vs. Evil Dead, W/ Bob & David, The Knick, and more.
Google Voice sees the return of the G.O.A.T in the midst of everybody yelling at us. We love it.
What Did You Watch is blurry at best so we talk about SATURDAY NIGHT, MURDER RAP, THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT, SCOUTS GUIDE TO THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE, GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS, CALL ME LUCKY, DRACULA and lots more.
Stupid Comments is played and Garrett is way too good at the game. So we stop playing.
Movie Homework shines a new light upon NAPOLEON DYNAMITE.
    This one still hurts, enjoy.

  • Binge SportsCast: WWE Survivor Series & Everything Else Wrestling
Welcome to an all-new wrestling edition of the Binge SportsCast. It’s Survivor Series time in the WWE, and I’m joined by my tag team partner, Batch, to talk about how horrible the booking has been for this PPV. Okay, we talk about a lot more than that, but we do get into a lot of that. We discuss the card (what they’ve given us anyway) and break down the final four in the championship tournament. We open the show with the ISIS threat that’s been circling the event all weekend and everything that goes along with that, including dropping some names on how it could play out if it were an actual storyline, and Batch plays along with his new soundboard. Yes, we’re experimenting with that, so be prepared.
We also get into the controversial Charlotte/Paige promo from Monday night, the state of TNA, the second season of Lucha Underground, close the show with our thoughts on the career of The Undertaker as he celebrates his 25th anniversary with the company. For more on that, you can also check out my list of the Top 25 Greatest Matches from 25 Years of The Undertaker.
It’s a strange time in wrestling right now with a lot of the big names out, but the two best names in wrestling are here to get you through it. That’s me and Batch if you’re not sure where I was going with that. Enjoy.

  • BingeCast: TV Round Up – Fargo Commentary S2 Ep 6
This episode of Fargo was a much needed breather after the craziness of episode 5.  Nick Offerman turns in an MVP performance,  Native Moreno goes tracking, and Kirsten Dunst increases her crazy bitch level. Much love to Insidious guy this episode.

  • The BingeCast Commentary – Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
After this, the prequel commentaries are over. Let that sink in for a bit.
They are sent out in style though, as Garrett, Kupka, Batch, and Moreno sit down to give a commentary for the Hayden Christensen Oscar reel known as Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. Some of the things discussed in this two plus hour bit of internet madness include:

What is a ‘high bar, low bar, high bar?’
What asshole let Obi Wan’s Boga sound like a dog’s squeaky toy?
Ooohhh, that ‘subtle’ symbolism Lucas attaches to Anakin turning to the dark side is AMAZING.
    How’s Star Wars like Marvel?
How’d Lucas try to ‘inject’ Peter Cushing?
    Mace Windu’s Dark Side.
Is Garrett a woman hater for hating Natalie Portman?
So HOW exactly did Padme hide the fact she was pregnant from the Jedi?
    What’s a ‘face actor?’
Why are the Jedi ‘Skyping’ into their own council meetings?
What is Garrett smoking to see similarities between this movie and Rosemary’s Baby?
Jedi Sportscenter (trust us, it makes sense).
    Lightsaber Dildos.

Grab your favorite alcoholic beverage, put on your best Vader brooding face, and watch with us the last Star Wars film to hit upon the masses until…well, you know.

  • Binge Movie Aftertaste – Rocky Retrospective w/ Luke Norris Pt 3
Welcome to the last Aftertaste exclusively featuring everyone’s favorite short on brains underdog named Rocky Balboa. Once again joined by Binge Sports’ own Luke Norris, we go over the last two Rocky films that have been released, and even give a little preview on what we expect from Creed, releasing November 25th from Warner Brothers.
Some of the questions Luke and I contemplate and sometimes answer:

What was the state of boxing at the time of both these releases?
How bad were Union Kane’s line deliveries?
What exactly did Paulie do to lose the Balboa estate?
Just how long was Rocky in Russia?
How many f’n Dukes are in Rocky V?!
Why is the Rocky franchise’s continuity more messed up than Friday the 13th‘s?
How much do we hate Larry Merchant?
How much do we love Duke?
What’s the guy from Heroes doing here, and how did he get the role of Rocky’s son in Rocky Balboa?
Can Stallone possibly win Best Supporting Actor for his role in Creed?
Where can you hear our final views on Creed?
Was Sage Stallone a bad case of Coppola style nepotism or did he come through as Rocky’s son?
What former franchise cast member eventually sued Sly?

Want more? As they say, this just scratches the surface of what we talk about in this once again epic podcast. I have to say, I have had a blast discussing these movies with Luke. The guy has such an interesting perspective on what state the sport was in at the time of each film’s release, and the parallelism associated with Stallone’s life. Please be sure to check out Sports Mockery, Sportster, The Luke Norris Experience, and every other corner of the internet to check out Norris’ stuff. This may be Luke’s final appearance for Rocky. But never fear. Not to sound too Terminator-ish, he will be back.
    Rocky V: 7/10, 6/10
    Rocky Balboa: 8.5/10, 7/10

  • Binge SportsCast: Rousey vs Holm, Top 5 NFL, NHL, NBA, CFB, CBB, & More
Welcome to an all-new edition of the Binge SportsCast. Once again, I’m flying solo and I start things off with a little plug and an announcement for an upcoming show, but once I get into things, you know I’m talking about Ronda Rousey nearly being decapitated by Holly Holm. I break down the fight and talk about what might be next for the former champ.
From there, I dive into everything else that’s happening in the sports world. College basketball quietly started in the last week, so I get into some of that as well as the new rankings for the College Football Playoff. As I turn to the pros, I break down my top 5 in the NHL, NBA, and NFL, and I might talk a little smack about the Binge Fantasy Football League along the way. Enjoy.

  • Monday Morning Moreno – And now…MacGyver commentaries!
Sup y’all.  It’s been a couple of weeks but I’m back with a new “experimental” episode of Monday Morning Moreno.  As far as format goes, this isn’t too experimental but it is something different for the show that I haven’t done before.  After realizing that my chick absolutely loved MacGyver, I decided to revisit some random episodes.  This wasn’t some some guilty pleasure for her, she genuinely loves it.  And you know you have a good chick on your hands when she’d much rather sit around and watch MacGyver than watch the Kardashians or some bullshit.
The other day I took a peek as she watched another episode and found myself immediately drawn into the greatness/awfulness that is the show.  I had seen it as a kid but not as an adult, and of course knew all of the cliches that go along with the show.  After watching a few, I quickly decided that we needed to do a series of commentaries.  And that we’d pick a random episode out of the blue, and run with it.  There was just too much goodness to pick apart.  Some of my favorite commentaries that I’ve done are the ones that I can sit back and pick apart, but in fun way. Not in an angry “I hate this fucking movie/tv show” way.
Hope you guys enjoy this; had a blast recording and looking forward to recording more of these in the future.
