If you’re reading this the day of release (9/21/15), I am sitting on a beach with my chick, drunkenly playing the ukulele and relaxing after a crazy fun wedding.  In order to have some content for your ear holes, I decided to once again experiment with the format of MMM.  After hearing the 100th special episode of The Tim Ferriss Show, I hijacked his format of drunk calling listeners and applied it here.  If you’re gonna steal, steal from the greats.

But I changed it slightly:  I got one of the listeners to co-host with me.  And that co-host is none other than Oh Hai Denny Luis.  After talking about what he does for a living, Canadian stuff and Alex Jones, we get to calling a few listeners. We talk to Robert Anthony Richard (aka Creepy 209 guy!), PJ the Intern, Pedro Nunez, Logan goddamn James, PeteMC and finally, TM. Just fair warning, things get sloppy in the end.

Now let me get back to my goddamn honeymoon.

It’s the weekend of champions at Binge Media, as many in the crew are in Chicago for Moreno’s wedding, and I’m one of them, but doesn’t mean that I’ve forgotten that it’s Night of Champions weekend in the WWE. Obviously, you know that means it’s time for yet another wrestling edition of the Binge SportsCast.

I’m joined as always by my tag-team partner, Batch, but for a big show, we felt we needed a little extra help, so we brought in our own mysterious “third man”. You know him as the legendary Binge Media hypeman, Denny Luis, who makes his long-awaited debut on the wrestling show.

We had a lot of things to get to during the show, and we tried to get as much in as we could, even if the show was almost hijacked with talk of lawsuits and worthless Canadian wrestlers. But when the show is on track, we talk the new Owen Hart DVD, the Divas Revolution and what we might do differently, the disappointing ending to Summerslam, the PWI top 10, the Night of Champions card, and much more.

Hey Bingers!

So, I decided from here on out, I am going to be doing things a little differently on the postings of the Binge Movie Aftertaste. Instead of writing out everything that is said on the show, I am putting together intros that detail a lot of what happens in the beginning of each show, with songs and sound bits from either movies we discussed or the conversations themselves. No reason really, other than I came up with the idea one drunken night while tripping over some beer bottles.

This week, the Binge Movie Aftertaste brings you its most off kilter show yet. With the recent passing of Wes Craven hitting us where it hurts, the lovely Jason Morris and I decided to give our own insights as to what he meant to us and cinema in general. We then call up longtime Binge Cast listener Nathan Peterson to tell us what he thought of the new M Night Shyamalan film The Visit. Peterson rewards us by continually making us hungry with mentions of his gig at Food Review UK. All of this while drinking. Aren’t we talented?

As mentioned above, the first 50 minutes or so of this podcast is spent with Jason and I mourning the sudden death of horror director Wes Craven. But what starts off as a loving tribute turns into probably our most heated on air conversation yet, as I question the merits behind people calling Craven a ‘master of horror,’ and Jason has good to great things to say about each film on his resume except one. Which one? You’ll have to listen to find out. Nonetheless, no matter how I feel about the quality of his overall resume, there is no denying the film world suffered a huge loss last week.

Proving that our show is unlike no other, we segue from a tribute to a departed director into a discussion about the one and only M Night Shyamalan, specifically his brand new horror/comedy The Visit. For help on this topic, we called Peterson. See, not only did he see a preview screening of the film, there was a Q & A session with Shyamalan that Peterson is more than happy to talk about. At least, what he remembers from it. All three of us give our overall views of Shyamalan as a director, and Jason grills us -without spoilers- about what to expect with The Visit.
