Fuck sake!  The sixth season of Sons of Anarchy didn’t floor us for the most part.  Lot of talky talky. Lot of storylines that didn’t go anywhere (Emo-Juice, Walton “tranny” Goggins”, stupid Adrianna from the Sopranos). But this season finale gave us classic SOA with gun shit, club shit, Jimmy Smits shit, and Bobby’s big dick shit.  We’re not going to spoil anything in this write up, but if you haven’t seen the episode before listening to the commentary (don’t know why you would), consider yourself warned.

After a week off, AHS: Coven is back with it’s the eighth episode (“The Sacred Taking”) and boy are we stoked that the show is back to form. Jessica Lange is scary with cancer, dude gets an enema, power struggles, creepy dead butlers, and some wicked use of camera angels, shadows, and make-up effects. The episode brings a whole new meaning to “Dick in a Box”, or at least you’ll be left thinking about SEVEN. Either way, we enjoy the flock out of it and so should you!

While Moreno celebrates the holiday season, Law and Ammon are here to deliver for you. Drunk.

We’ve got a new Google Voice for Ammon to play with. Law watches the AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 trailer for the first time and geeks out over some easter eggs. This leads to questions and predictions about the future of Spidey, The X-Men, Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman on the big screen.

TV Round-Up involves AMERICAN HORROR STORY, THE WALKING DEAD, SONS OF ANARCHY, and MOB CITY.

As for movies, there’s a lot. Ammon checks out PACIFIC RIM for the first time ever, and also watches TAKEN 2, BRAVEHEART, CAN’T HARDLY WAIT, SHE’S ALL THAT, PAIN AND GAIN, and THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER. Law checks out OPEN GRAVE and CBGB and revisits PACIFIC RIM so he can join in on the ultimate fife-a-long. We love this f’ing movie and don’t care what anybody else says.

Then we get Ammon’s incredible admission about Eddie Vedder. I won’t spoil it, you just have to hear it to believe it.

Look at this fucking kid.  Talk about overacting.  SAMCRO is back after a week hiatus in which the show and everyone else in the United States celebrated my birfday and the slaughtering of Native Americans aka Old School Morenos.  This episode wound up being classic SOA with double crossing, Emo Juice crying, horrible Abel Teller acting, and the revelation that Bobby is packing major wood.  Seriously, it’s a two man job.

One more episode left in the season!  How’s the season finale going to turn out?

With the mid-season finale in the books, Jim Law and myself look back on the past eight episodes in this week’s commentary.  What did the show do right and wrong this season?  How closely did the show follow the graphic novel’s prison battle?  Was the Governor as good as he was in the source material?  Why didn’t the one lesbian take her shirt off?  We cover every single possible question, including what Zombie Tyreese would sound like, in this week’s The Walking Dead commentary.

While we go into this Homework assignment on different sides of the fence, Moreno definitely steps up to the plate in making this film more interesting than I thought possible. He does so with details about the book, insights on the directorial methods of Roger Avary, and tons of info about the extended Bret Easton Ellis universe which includes the spin-off novel, Glamorama. Still, he has no excuse for the single tear that escapes Dawson’s enormous head at the end of the movie. Nobody does.

Whether we’re discussing the breakout performance of Jessica Biel, or why Sean Bateman decides to kill himself after talking to a girl one time in a hallway, Moreno does his best to make sense of it all for me.

This is a conversation not to be missed if you’re a fan of the film, or if you don’t quite get what’s going on half the time. Just talking to Moreno made me like the film a little more than before. I think  they might owe him some money (cocaine).

Just as the boys sit down to record the new show, news breaks about the sudden passing of Paul Walker. It’s a shitty way to kick things off but we remember the actor as best we can by taking a look back at his career and recommending some of his best moments in case you missed them.

From there, Moreno watches HOMEFRONT and revisits CHRISTMAS VACATION while Law enjoys both, CAPTAIN PHILLIPS and ESCAPE PLAN. TV Round-Up lets us finally discuss the brilliance of the Boardwalk Empire finale and the awful awesomeness of Brody’s training montage in Homeland.

There’s a little Game of Thrones talk as Law starts the 5th book (A Dance With Dragons) and a look ahead to our Movie Homework Bingecast later this week on RULES OF ATTRACTION. Stay tuned.

Hopefully you all studied hard so that you can join Moreno and Law for a drunken look back at one of the greatest holiday movies ever made. What’s with the horrendous soundtrack? Didn’t Steve Martin notice how gross the bathroom was before he got in the shower? How many times does Martin use the word “fucking” in his classic rant? There’s a post-credit scene? All these questions are answered, and more. Plus, we get the lowdown on Moreno’s bowling history and find out whether or not he had his own ball (he did).
