  • TV Comm: Twin Peaks Retrospective
"The owls are not what they seem."
"My log has something to tell you."
    "You stole the corn!"
Those are but three of the iconic, creepy and strange quotes from Twin Peaks, the David Lynch/Mark Frost saga which started on TV back in 1990.  Why are we covering Twin Peaks now?  Well, as it turns out, Kupka, Chad C and TM all decided to watch this during quarantine, so we decided to do our own retro/review/breakdown of the entire series.  This is a full spoiler podcast covering all three seasons of Twin Peaks, the film Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, so if you haven't seen any of this and are planning on it, be sure to check this show out after you finish the Twin Peaks experience.
We break down theories, suggestions, a very long Youtube explanation video as well as our thoughts on some of the symbolism, imagery and ideas at play.  We also talk about how good Lynch is at casting smokeshows in lead roles.  All this and more.

  • Movie Homework: The Wild Bunch
    Welcome to Movie Homework!
This week we're continuing our series of "Does It Hold Up?"  What does that mean?  Well we're watching movies that the three of us (Jack, Alyx and StepChad haven't seen in a long time) and asking the question of whether or not they still hold up today.  Last week, we covered Gladiator.
This week's feature is the iconic 1969 western The Wild Bunch, directed by Sam Peckinpah.  Referenced incessantly whenever one does some reading on old Hollywood, film geekdom or influences on people like Edgar Wright, Martin Scorsese or Quentin Tarantino, we thought it would be great to revisit this legendary film and ask ourselves whether or not we think it holds up.
