Movies are just moving paintings with sound.  They keep you very close to them, and away from the light of day.  They lie to you.  They tell you things only a moviegoer can understand.  But they are really pretty beasts.

Under the Silver Lake is brilliant if you are a teenager who is obsessed with playing records backwards for secret messages.  In other words, if you are looking for conspiracies everywhere because you are very, very, bored, you'll probably like this movie.    

It's a really pretty movie if you turn the sound off, though.  And your storyline is probably going to be better.

The Kissing Booth is a Netflix film that was picked when my niece, because all my movie choices are "too old".  Yes, she is 12.  She is guesting on this episode because she told me that she was guesting, and I find it best not to argue with her.  

We talk about which part of the movie to skip (the entire second half - spoiler), which animals she will allow to live when she is a veterinarian, and what human being she would be willing to feed to a hungry animal.

Alien is a movie about a Space Tug that was sent to do scientific research, because their power-driven manager was trying to hijack another department's meeting.  Promising the moon and stars to the executives in attendance because the other manager took the last danish.   

As a notice to all the space corporations out there, maybe don't send a space tugboat crew to do potentially dangerous space exploration.  Maybe focus on their strengths, like space tugboating.
