  • The Boulevardier

Thanks to those who sent me some messages regarding the last episode. I read a few notes that came in after publishing Ep#76 in this new podcast and delve into the term 'Boulevardier' which I first heard used to describe Montreal writer and politician Nick Auf der Maur. His approach to community, commentary and well, life, has been an indirectly influential part of my career. Feeling blue? apparently Magic Mushrooms can 'reset' a depressed brain. Will parliament ever legalize Magic Mushrooms like they have Cannabis. As a betting man I'd say no.. because the term 'Magic Mushrooms' sounds stupid, it's as simple as that. This week's music chat follows up on the 'Brothers Gallagher' from Oasis who's rivalry goes deeper than just twitter and interview jabs, now they're releasing albums and singles at the same time. Who wins this week? I share my thoughts. Friday's are always fun because new music gets released before the weekend. I was at the record release party for One Bad Son Thursday I chat about the experience and highlight their new single 'Scream For Me' as well as feature samples from the brand new Glorious Sons album 'Young Beauties and Fools' and wrap with a shout-out to Barrie Ontario's 'RIP Nancies'.

  • Homesick

I've reached a bit of a crossroads with this podcast. After a hiatus for the summer I was inspired by my pal Mark Davis over a lunch conversation where he encouraged me to rally and produce more episodes and re-invent my approach to the little project of mine. I tackle some recent news that the deceased crack-smoking former Toronto Mayor Rob Ford may have a new stadium or park named after him. Does the fact that he died of cancer erase his dodgy track record as a human being?

I also preview and review some new tracks and upcoming albums that I'm personally excited for this fall. The new Liam Gallagher solo record and The Glorious Sons' new single 'My Poor Heart' which dropped at midnight today (Sept 29th). While discussing the back catalogue and the first major label debut that the Glorious Sons had in 2014 'The Union' I got emotional and there was no real way to edit out my tears and true feelings. I'm homesick. The first full-length record from Kingston Ontario band The Glorious Sons was the soundtrack to the courtship between my fiance and I and it's been just over a year since I packed my bags and moved away from the 'Limestone City' to follow my girl to the GTA. Don't worry, I'm not going to go full Sinead O'Connor. I'm ok; but the last 2 mins of this episode are raw and real.

  • The Horseshoe Diaries Part 2: One Bad Son

One Bad Son were in Toronto playing the legendary Horseshoe Tavern during Canadian Music Week. I set up shop in the front area by the window and chatted with Kurt & Adam from the band about their new single 'Raging Bull' which just hit #2 on the Canadian Rock chart today (April 24). We also had a visit from 'Crazy Marie' or 'Crazy Murray' we're not sure but she definitely smokes meth and wanted to get in on the podcast. Hicks is apparently packing a python and Kurt talks about his side-gig as an entertainment lawyer. They play The Merchant Tap House, Kingston on Thursday (April 27th).

  • The Horseshoe Diaries Part 1: The Dead Love

Canadian Music Week is wrapping up in Toronto and I missed most of it due to my local charity commitments. I did however get a chance to hang with friends from Australia 'The Dead Love' at the Horseshoe Tavern before their gig. We discuss the progress on a new album, collaborations and the current Toronto Maple Leafs playoff fever they've witnessed since arriving in the city.

  • Training Chipmunks & Tossing Little People

One of the first dudes I connected with in Barrie was KJ Preston and since then we've teamed up for several successful comedy endeavors and other projects like the BIG FM Comedy Garage Tour. We talk about the momentum that we feel my radio program now has and analyze whether or not I'm an a-hole. Sacred monkeys, heckling comics, the Charlie Sheen joke factory is still in business, Who likes Adam Sandler's new movies? (other than Netflix executives), Game of Thrones and real life jousting in.. Windsor? all topics on this new episode.

  • First World Problem PTSD

They say change is good but possibly all the life changes have left me with some sort of PTSD. Shopping for a new co-host for my morning radio program, death of a friend and mentor, living in the suburbs getting old. I unload my anxieties on this episode with guest Bakker from Bakkersound.com who is a mutual friend of the late Kerry Gray.

Hillsburn christened the new 'Green Garage' jam space with a song (Sun Oughta Shine) from their upcoming album which they say will be available 'sometime this year'. Big shout out to David Myles, host of East Coast Music Hour on CBC, who is responsible for getting me laid. Their new music video for 'Low Light' dropped Feb 28 and they've got dates at The Grad Club, Kingston (March 1st) Blacksheep Inn, Ottawa (March 5th).
