  • Radio1000BC presents Black Boxsss #36. The Milquetoast.
    BB36. The Milquetoast by Simon Saint-Simon for Radio1000bc Designed and composed by Simon Saint-Simon Sounds: The honest truth this time? You want gleam in the gloam? My child I am old and no less difficult than I was as a youth. If you must know I was cleaning up the old lighthouse at Milson’s point, bequeathed to me by the Macquarie family before the second world war (if you didnt know). I found myself one evening in the bulb of said house. There is a rudimentary office in an ingress to the side of the spinning torch, which gives the helmet of the building it's peculiar shape. That night i was picking through the old letters, records and tapes i had stored up there and I was overcome (as much as an autistic little serpent may be) by a crushing sense of both nostalgia and the undone. The achingly beautiful emptiness of this malaise led me to abort the glans of the tower and pace the circular track of the room, in desperate absolution, and then, at its height, it pinned me to the leaded pericarp of the inverted globe itself. The light swung by again and again like the eye of a mentally disabled cyclops trying to peer into my heart or butthole (dependent on the gain of my weep), yet lacking the concentration to get beyond my own carapace. So stuck, surface layer to surface layer, like warm child skin on the burning hot leatherette of mother's old DAF, I stayed, staring out beyond the harbour and the headland into the bright gloom of the warm, depthless Pacific...1 Gigi Masin - The Word Love 2 Fennesz - Glass Ceiling 3 Population One - Musical promises 4 Clark - Strength Through Fragility 5 Black Light Smoke - Firefly 6 Arca - Zen 7 Caribou - Mars (Head High’s Core Remix) 8 Paul Johnson - Give Me Ecstasy 9 Steve Poindexter - Computer Madness 10 Hieroglyphic Being - How Wet Is Yr Box 11 Vereker - Flesh and Blood 12 Aleister Crowley - The Poet 13 KMFH - Dr. Crunch 14 Tirzah - I’m Not Dancing 14 Luke Abbott - White Box 15 Lee Gamble - Jove Layup 16 Falty DL - Dos Gardenias 17 Etienne Jaunet - Metallik Cages (Acid Arab Remix) 18 Mykki Blanco - For the Homies 19 The Stooges - TV Eye 20 Ornette Coleman - Science Fiction 21 Ornette Coleman - Times Square 22 The Ecstasy Of Saint Theresa - Surfing On Steam (Band du Lunar mix by Bandulu) 23 Sanctified - Rick Ross, Kanye West and Big Sean (Brenmar remix) 24 Michel Cleis & Klement Bonelli Feat. C Ya Simon Pukey

    It is with deep regret and sadness that we must confirm to the listenership the departure from The Ark of Simon Clifford Pukey. Not only was he the chief engineer of Black Box and an expert in his field but he was also a dear friend.

    Not citing ill health as a reason he referred to a desire to pursue more pure and consistent political and philosophical aims with his group Brothers Bear Arms. With this in mind Simon has issued the following statement (referenced in part below) on his Facebook account

    'I hereby recognise myself as a sovereign state and here forth remove myself from the digital media light district, severing all ties forthwith. Like all organic creatures I find repose in shadows. I find myself an auratic, autonomous and uncommodifiable individual and refuse any longer to support exploitative frameworks in exchange for vicarious identity & second hand love. Safe voyage my brothers and sisters. The night is long but i will be at your shoulder always. Dont forget.'

    This is my musical farewell (i only know how to party not how to grieve) at a loss of a dear brother as relevant as Ersnt, Mayakovsky, Bakunin, Cendrars, Kerouac, Levan, Alkan, Fellini, Prince and every other anarcho-disco legend not mentioned.

  • Black Box 18 :: Annual Report 2010 (Part Un)

    Annual Report 2010 Part Un

    Illustrated by Milla Galea

    Composed by Simon Saint-Simon

    On a wintry and treacherous December 17 2010 Simon Saint-Simon was joined by Harrison Prickles in the overtly comfortable, air-conditioned halls of the Heyward Gallery, South Bank, London. Here in front of a partially live audience they met to discuss the years highlights thus far. However neither expected the dead air that ensued to result in their incarceration. A breif relaxation of the ancient sphinctal libel laws means that a show that was quickly banned can now have the first putrescent corpse of its visi-gogging aired here today now. FREE THE RACECASTE 2!!

  • Black Box 17 :: Swallows' Pit

    Swallows' Pit

    Illustrated by Milla Galea

    Composed by Simon Saint-Simon

    3/3 recorded live at Westminster Road Necropolis. Twilight has fallen upon the terminal dawn and no day to speak of lies crooked between atrium panes. Feathers have been spilled upon lost marble flooring but before these petrifications, a lively August swaying brought to fruit the globular and monal last spits of Simonhain which was accompanied, as is the tradition, by the bearing aloft of chairs, arms and other instruments of love.

    This year the females and males played in honour of Dickie Hyde who came northwards to suprise himself square within the pyramid, laid-bare as he was with gauntlets and down-laden with dumb number.

  • Black Box 16 :: L'Eternel

    Illustrated by Milla Galea

    Composed by Simon Saint-Simon

    2/3 recorded LIVE at the Frog and Nightmare, as part of Chester's 'Simonhain' festivities celebrating the end of summer, the dead and the return home of a heavily corrupt and compromised political careerist who cares not a jot about the Wales he isn't from.

    Local bumfunsters 'What Do You Do?' egg-on Simon to loosen the swelling gourd of his glans into the divinely unbalanced ampola of bass bin and tweeter and then leer in character at the salivating throng as they lasciviously ululate at the trough. In a heavy trance this is the midpoint of the rite.

    '...And as the universe was spat out circular, with no legs or feet, so it was St.Simon who tore asunder the annular muscle, passed through the mirror and man-made the mortals dance, in the image of the Olympian gods'.
