    Good Morning Nashville ☀️
As always we thank you guys for tuning in to the Black Men Vent Too Podcast each and every Monday morning as we aim to bring content that hopefully moves you to be a better black man/woman in society . We’ve put an interesting twist into this month . As you know each month we try to present an issue and discuss it throughout the entire month , however , we decided to switch up the tempo for this episode .
In our episode today, we recap our month of March by thanking our previous business owners for coming on our show to vent . Tying that to today , we decided to bring our black business season and compare it to one of the worst events of injustice in black history that occurred in Tulsa, Oklahoma in the early 1900s known as “The Tulsa Massacre”. As we discuss this event , we also highlight a most recent incident that occurred with Black Panther movie director Ryan Coogler who was arrested in Atlanta for wanting to withdraw a large amount of money from his own bank account .
This episode Nashville is nothing short of others . We’re excited to have discussed Nashville’s version of Black Wall Street by bringing different business owners on the show . They vented about adversities and things they’ve faced , and what better way to show true black business adversity than to discuss the Tulsa Massacre of 1921.

  • BMI: Black Business (Part 2) With Stephen Benson ✌🏽
    Good Morning Nashville ☀️
We are very thankful that we’re able to showcase black business during Black History Month this past February. HOWEVER , we need way more than 28 days to showcase the various talents , creatives , and businesses so we’ve decided to extend our black business season into the month of March . This gives us a chance to provide businesses in Nashville that you may not know of a platform for exposure while still sitting down with the business owners and hearing them vent .
Todays episode exemplifies just that and I am excited about it. Opening up our “Part Two” of the Body Mass Index Of Black Business is my good longtime friend , fellow frat brother 👌🏽 , and MTSU graduate Stephen Benson . Mr. Benson is the owner of his business “Shoe CPR”, a detailing solution used to bring any sneaker back to life . Stephen talked to us about how it all started for him . He was giving away his product early on for free , cleaning shoes for free , and now he stands strong on his business with big things to look forward to in the future . Stephen enjoys the gaming world as well, and has used that platform to help his business as well. In the venting process , he also talked about how playing the game was an escape from reality . Dealing with things at that age in his personal life , he found a passion for gaming that eventually turned into him making money from it . Stephen is a multifaceted black man with many talents , but you can tell from this episode that he truly is all about Shoe CPR .
Take some time Nashville to check this unique episode out . Share it with someone who likes shoes , needs them cleaned , or with a person who again just needs to hear a black man vent today . Thank you to our BMVT audience for your continued support as we continue to grow one episode at a time .

  • BMI: Black Business With Edward Howard ✌🏽
    Good Morning Nashville ☀️
What a season it has been! We’re very thankful that we were able to showcase black business during Black History Month. There are so many “hole in the wall” business that people don’t know of . Then there are man business owners who have these businesses , but some days just need someone to vent and talk to . This season we pray we bridged that gap in a way that motivates and inspires the next black man .. of course , one episode at a time .
Todays episode is all about wings! Nashville stands firm on being the hot chicken capital , but Edward Howard stands firm their slogan … “The Best Way Is The Official Way” when he talks about his business Official Wings . Nashville , Edward Howard , a Memphis native , comes to our show today to vent about things he’s been through as he’s excelled in his business . The vision was sought out with 4 guys together , all positioning themselves for the better of the business and Edward breaks down how important teamwork truly is when starting a business . A masters degree recipient , man of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., a business man , a father , and a husband are just some of the hats Edward wears . We enjoyed our discussion with him as he motivates us all in this episode to support black business and do it genuinely . If black people support black people with love , there’s no telling how our culture can surpass the next with this effort towards change in our society .

  • BMI: Black Business With Otis Knowlton ✌🏽
    Good Morning Nashville ☀️
Welcome to another episode of BMVT! If you are new to our platform , we thank you for taking the time out to hear a black man vent today. For our regular audience, you know we got love for all of you guys. Thank you for continually supporting everything that BMVT has to offer 🖤
We are in our season of “Black Business” as we showcase inner city businesses that may not get the shine they deserve . Today we talk to a young man , Memphis native , who thrives in his business with using something we often overlook each and everyday … buttons! Otis Knowlton , our guest for today , prides himself in being the “King Of Buttonz”.
“In early July of 2017. God literally woke me up out of my sleep & told me to make pin badge buttons. I didn’t know if I was dreaming or what that even meant at the time but I listened. From that moment O’Buttonz was created. If you’re wondering how I got that name, here’s how I came up with it. I simply took the first letter of my first name & put it with buttons but buttons sounded so boring at the time so I put a Z on the end to give the name extra sauce. It clicked like a seatbelt & we were off for a ride. I almost instantly realized making buttons was my passion. As the chosen one of badges.”
Otis vents to us about continuing to have that hunger for success despite adversity . He prides himself on leveling up every year of his business and how important it is to maintain your passion behind your brand . Check out Otis and and his products here on his website : https://obuttonz.com
