  • Drive My Car Best Picture Review
: Frequently I like to start my intros with something quippy, or a clever way to give a piece of the plot of the films we will be reviewing; something fun or exciting to get us started with the episode. Drive my car directed by Ryusuke Hamaguchi is the first film, I did not feel comfortable creating something clever or quippy to start. It's such a deep film that touches on many theme’s like grief, acceptance, loss and embodies self awareness to like the tenth degree. It’s a film that is long as hell and does take a bit of dedication to get through but does not feel it, with the great pacing it has

  • Best Picture Nominee: Coda Review
Child of Deaf Adults, a CODA. One thing I have to say, so far my favorite movie of the best picture nominees; is by far the film CODA directed by Sian Heder. A relatable film about a young high school senior. Who grows up in a deaf family, while she herself has able hearing.

  • Belfast Movie Review
In the midst of our Oscar reviews for best picture, we often find candidates that spark different interests in our perspective of film. One would say a film is boring, where another would see it as a spectacle in terms of themes, and messaging. I think Belfast, directed by Kenneth Branah, is a good example of the first film in the best picture category, that really created different opinions amongst the Black Room Reviews crew. Some of us loved it, some of us thought it was a bore, and others could see it’s importance and why it was selected in best picture; even though it didn’t pique their interest

  • Uncharted! Video Game Film Review
Uncharted the Movie, based on the popular video game by the same name. It definitely is not good, not even close; but you know, again I love Tom Holland and I love to see him on the screen, so guess what. We watched this film, really going in with an open mind, and understanding that because it was a film based on a video game, that It probably wouldn't be good.

  • JackAss Crew, Jumps over the Fallen Moon
I could barely stay awake to finish this one film and it embarrassed me to think that this director created two of my favorite disaster films of all time, Independence day and The day after tomorrow. MoonFall directed by Roland Emmerich Starring Halle Berry, Patrick Wilson and John Bradley. This next film, let’s just be honest it’s not a cinematic masterpiece, it’s not trying to be, it's a hilarious compilation of rambunctious, nearly psychotic group of daredevils, pulling off gross disgusting stunts for our amusement and I am forever here for it, I will never be tired of it, and i hope we get at least one more. I am talking about the film that started an entire culture of stupidity, Jackass Forever directed by Jeff Tremaine starring Steve-o Johnny knoxville and their entire crew from the original Jackass.

  • The Tribe! Foreign Films Review
The Tribe, A Ukrainian film on Amazon Prime, completely shot in sign language, no subtitles or any outward dialogue, so the entire time you have to tie together the events of the film, by what you see on screen; the characters, and their actions! It’s definitely a different experience than any film I’ve previously seen, without a doubt.
