  • S1: E18: Create Social Well Being While Finding Your Groove

No one is self-sufficient; everyone relies on others.  It is the way of having social well being.  It may not be obvious that finding your groove should not be a solitary endeavor, but clarity comes from comparison.  It’s not necessary to have a large group of people to improve that well being, but solving important issues alone is a one-sided view.  There are at least two or more solutions to any problem.

  • S1: E17: Emotional Awareness Brings Clarity To Finding Your Groove

The early episodes of “Black Women 60+ Finding Their Groove laid a foundation of four pillars.  We are now at Number 3, Emotional Awareness.  This is about your visible and invisible feelings.  Practicing this state is a lifetime process.

  • S1: E16: Finding Your Groove With Your Health (Pillar #2)

Welcome back to “Black Women 60+ Finding Their Groove.”  I’m your host, Connie Le Gendre.  The second pillar, “Best of health,” has many important components in your life.  In this episode I’ve considered the five I’ve had the most experience with.  These are more like definitions to find my groove.  Feel free to expand your inclusion of as many more you think will help you to find your groove.  If you are in the health field, you probably have a different or even longer list.

Apologies for Episode 16 being late.  I’m having technical difficulties

  • S1 E1: How You Start Anything You Want!
Black Women 60+ Finding Their Groove is for those women who have said:  “I don’t know where to start” as they are moving into retirement or are already there, are selling themselves short.  Whether you are a minimum wage earner or have broken the glass ceiling in a high value corporation, you were plowing the groove for someone else.  Now it’s your turn and all you can see ahead of you is what you left behind.  It’s time to put on the rose-colored glasses and paint a rosy future.

  • S1: E15: Health Is A Plan To Finding Your Groove

The best of health pillar as seen through Black Women 60+ Finding Their Groove includes many segments: Your body is not the only thing you need to know about.  It’s important to know what is attacking our health and what is known about it.  We need to know who is in charge of our health, not only as a nation but globally.  I can only point out observation, experience, and how my health was and is affected without formal training in the medical field.  You are responsible for your healthy outcome more than you think.  Leaving it to others is not a game plan.

  • You Are The Creator Of Your Value

Knowing what you want is the overarching theme of "Black Women 60+ Finding Their Groove. Moving from scarcity to abundance by understanding "money" was and is just a word until it was a thing. It became a thing in the form of minted coins in the 14th Century. This episode and future episodes will equate wealth to abundance. It's what you have left after you pay all your debts. We can describe that state as from comfortable to wealthy. If money is a barrier to your groove, you can either scale back your lifestyle or create more money. We began with the foundation of knowing who you are and then knowing how that connects to the first pillar: "Money"

  • S1: E13: Money Does Not Equal Value

Are lack and scarcity barriers to controlling your life?  Usually, we attribute this to money.  But the word money by itself does not inform us of what it is that makes money the culprit for what’s missing or not enough of.  Before you can point your finger at money stealing your joy, you need more information about something as intangible as money.

I think I’ve solved the problem of being able to comment on this episode.  If you are able to get through, feel free to comment.

Thank you for bearing with me as I learn the technical aspects of creating this podcast. I've learned how to inject segments of music transitions, and I'm working on better selections and placements. I invite you to comment so you can have a better listening experience.

  • S1: E11: It Is The Best Of Times

“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair.”

― Charles Dickens, "A Tale of Two Cities." This is considered Dickens' most difficult book to read. If you have not read "A Christmas Carol," it is much easier and several of his books have been made into movies.
