Technically still a member of the Rockies roster, Scott Oberg was kind enough to sit down with us and talk ball on the latest Banter Session. One of the most humble and down to earth ballplayers, Oberg comes with a very nuanced and complex understanding of how baseball works If you want the inside scoop on how Oberg’s career went, starting as a Massachusetts high schooler, to his UConn baseball career and the beginning of some uncommon injuries, all the way up to his peak moment closing out the Cubs in the 2018 Wild Card game, this is the pod for you.

Oberg's career numbers sit at 3.85 ERA with 234 strikeouts over 257.1 innings. After hitting another gear in mid-June of 2017, Oberg would finish with a 2.76 ERA over his final 146.2 innings. Regardless of what his baseball future holds, Oberg will hold a revered place in the hearts of Rockies’ faithful for being one of the more dependable relievers the team has had in quite some time.

Drafted in the 4th round in the 2020 MLB Draft, Williams has already, what seems to be, been through a lot as a professional athlete. From being drafted by his hometown team to being traded and then coming back to the Rox all within a calendar year, the young 20 year old carries himself like a soft spoken vet. He opens up about that process, his pitch arsenal (you'll never believe how his slider became so nasty) and what he hopes to achieve going forward this year. Another can't miss Session!

Ward is an electric baseball player, constantly causing chaos on the base paths, pushing the envelope every time he's between the white lines. He's just as electric in this Banter Session. Ward knows what his job is and how to have fun doing it. From experiencing the CWS as a freshman at UW, playing next to Willie MacIver, Ward learned quickly what he needed to do to be a good lead-off hitter. Ward started playing his professional career back in his hometown and is now in Spokane. Hear how each spot affects his performance, in a fun way. Ward has been very happy with how the Rockies are taking care of him and his colleagues, he also is talking and helping the new kids on the block as they work together towards the same goal.
