Sketching Comedy presents, “Looney Tunes”
Looney Tunes is an American animated series of comedy short films produced by Warner Bros. from 1930 to 1969 during the golden age of American animation, alongside its sister series Merrie Melodies. It was known for introducing such famous cartoon characters as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Elmer Fudd, Tweety Bird, Sylvester the Cat, Yosemite Sam, Foghorn Leghorn, Marvin the Martian, Pepé Le Pew, Speedy Gonzales, Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner, the Tasmanian Devil, and many others. These characters themselves are commonly referred to as the “Looney Tunes”.
Looney Tunes initially showcased Warner-owned musical compositions through the adventures of cartoon characters such as Bosko and Buddy. Later, following the animation studio’s addition of directors Tex Avery and Chuck Jones among others, Looney Tunes rose to greater fame after introducing several of the aforementioned cartoon stars.

In today’s episode of BrokeBot Mountain, Kari Simms, Phil Rood discuss the highly anticipated Starz TV Series, American Gods. Which is based off a Hugo and Nebula Award-winning novel by English author Neil Gaiman of the same name. But before that, they submit you to one of the worst movies chosen for this show, ever… S1m0ne. Honestly, what was Pacino thinking?
The central premise of the series is that Gods and mythological creatures exist because people believe in them (a type of thoughtform). Immigrants to the United States brought with them spirits and Gods. The power of these mythological beings has diminished as people’s beliefs waned. New Gods have arisen, reflecting America’s obsessions with media, celebrity, technology, and drugs, among other things.
