If you’re going to Disney World for your first time or your fiftieth, there are a number of Disney Apps you can download to your iPhone that will make your trip easier and more enjoyable. Whether you are excitedly making plans for your trip or are already there, apps exist that can shorten wait lines, give customer reviews, and even save you money. Google messaging app, Allo, released on Google I/O earlier this year.  They had talked about new message retention practices that would store messages only temporarily.  They’ve now essentially changed their mind, only allowing this in Incognito Mode; otherwise you’ll have to manually delete conversations.  Allo messages are encrypted between your device and Google’s servers, where they’re stored to make them accessible to Google’s algorithms.   The reason for the change is its smart reply feature, which gives suggestions based on a conversation; this works better with more data.  Messages will by default be accessible to certain law enforcement requests.

  You can now finally do so with iOS 10.  Well, they’re not actually deleted, but hidden, but out of sight, out of mind.  Apple says these apps only take up about 150 MB.  The article lists the 23 apps that are now able to be removed.  You reinstall apps the same way you’d any other—through the App Store.

Incremental games, also called idle games, clickergames or clicking games.  They are video games whose gameplay consists of the player performing simple actions (such as clicking on the screen) repeatedly to gain currency. This can be used to obtain items or abilities that increase the rate at which currency accrues.

Starting September 19, Twitter will begin cutting down exactly what’s counted against their 140-character restriction. This includes “media attachments like images, GIFs, videos & polls  This was first announced back in May, but no exact date was given. Usernames will also stop counting toward the limit, but it’s unclear if these will happen simultaneously.

They had previously considered increasing the limit, but CEO Jack Dorsey praised it back in January. He called it a “beautiful constraint” and that Twitter would “never lose” the creativity, brevity, and speed of the character limit. It was originally designed to fit in SMS messages; this still allows focus on the message itself.

Shane Mattox and Peter Fisher discuss a cleansing of sorts is coming to the App Store.  Apple sent out an email to developers notifying them of a new evaluation process meant to find and remove “problematic” apps that haven’t been updated for compatibility with recent versions of iOS and macOS. Apple says it’s seeking out apps “that no longer function as intended” and those that fail to meet current review guidelines. The Apple developer website has also been updated with an explainer on the new process.

WhatsApp says that sharing this information means Facebook can offer better friend suggestions by mapping users’ social connections across the two services, and deliver more relevant ads on the social network. 

I’d App that ponders Google’s choice to end support for Chrome apps on Windows, Mac, and Linux.   Starting later this year, new Chrome apps will be available only to Chrome OS users and will not be accessible on Windows, Mac, and Linux. (Existing apps will remain available and can still be updated.) Then, sometime in the second half of 2017, the Chrome Web Store will no longer display Chrome apps at all on those operating systems.
