Penny Locaso is the world's first happiness hacker, someone concerned with helping others, or challenging others, to take control of their habits, vocabulary, and their approaches to learning. What Penny has to share is important and her conversation with David and Tim leads them to diagnose and approach complex problems. Between the faster pace of work, more digital distractions, less physical contact with people and nature, and the potential for technology, living and working is pretty complex and it's getting more complex as time passes.

Anti-fragility is a phrase coined by Professor Nassim Nicholas Taleb in his eponymous book. To build on centuries of ancient knowledge and wisdom, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger and Jess Freund is certainly alive and strong. During this episode we feature our first female guest, discuss the name of the podcast and address the considerations of antifragile people and antifragile societies.

Bradley Wall is a special individual who did what most people do not - put himself in harm's way, in awful conditions, against his body's wishes, to experience some of Nature's splendour. David and Tim saw it fit to ask why anyone would do such a thing? Clearly Brad had a good idea of what he had to gain from this experience, and it goes to show that discipline has benefits in all of it's forms.

It's looking like a majority coalition government for Australia thanks to some very important seats being won for LNP - but this has a lot of people upset to say the least. The popular vote went to the Liberal and National parties but neither had as many votes individually compared to Labor. This was not expected by the media or the pollsters, but many individuals could have predicted it by virtue of their votes. David helps Tim unpack what happened, how the polls were so wrong, and what to do if you're dissatisfied with the result.

This is the most confronting episode of Blind Insights to date. David shares how the findings of William Glasser, founder of Choice Theory, and student of Abraham Maslow (of Maslow's hierarchy of needs), have informed his approach to teaching and his mental health. If you're down in the dumps, to trivialise a common human suffering, Glasser presents a solution - a process to take yourself through, and a conceptualisation of self, to help you one step at a time...

David's physical discipline is the daily peaceful practice of Ashtanga Yoga. He has learned many poses within the primary series, despite his blindness, under the ongoing tutelage of Youngblood Roche—a yogi and the director of the Adelaide Ashtanga Yoga Shala. In this special episode, the dynamic shifts as David becomes the student while, together, Tim, Youngblood, and David explore the many benefits of yoga. Youngblood also gives insight into the challenges David has faced in the practice being blind and how the experience of working with David has impacted Youngblood's teaching.

Australians are facing a federal election on May 18th, and it seems to Tim and David that voters are despondent or disinterested. Why? Does this matter? What can we do to fix it? All things that Tim, David, and special Guest Dr. John Bruni discuss. John is from SAGE International Australia, and an esteemed commentator on foreign affairs, someone well-versed in politics. The conversation lends itself to some skepticism bordering on cynicism over Australian leadership and political practice.

Derrick McManus is a medical marvel and an exemplar or how much the human body and mind can achieve or survive with the right practices and mindset. In a special episode of Blind Insights, David and Tim discuss Derrick's personal story and the concepts he is sharing with the world from his own learned experience. The three enjoy a great conversation about where the world could be if we were to maintain optimal performance and become more durable, resilient humans. Along with leading a life of risk, Derrick has always been responsible for actions and consequences and shown discipline in anything he sets his mind too. As a case study for human durability and resilience, this would be one of the most convincing stories.
If you wish to learn more about Derrick, he has a seminar running soon.

Have you found you political beliefs to change over time? So have Peter, Tim, and David. The reasons for changing your beliefs are varied, but theses three men discuss their journeys with similar outcomes in the wake of a more polarised culture. Regardless of your beliefs, you may find some use in thinking about your journey to your standing, and this conversation is an excellent start. Peter offers his journey from Marxism to Centrism, David recounts his thoughts through Communism to Anarchism, and Tim discusses his ever-swaying Left and Right leaning beliefs.
