This week I was way off. Pretty sure it's because I missed the Greatest Homecoming on Earth at the illustrious North Carolina A&T State University (kinda, not really lol). This is the first of many sacrifices I'll be making but it hurt me to my core. Listen as I walk through these emotions last week.
Already been one month! And 5 episodes Whoot! I had to get over myself and get some help. What helped? Changing my thought process and approach to asking for help. Also my old life? #TeamTooMuch after six weeks in grad school, I already can't hang, smh. But I need a better balance beside school, home and back. Dealing with that little thought bubble pops up, Did you only want me here to show off how 'inclusive' you are? This week I'm talking about my past experiences that have shaped these thoughts, interacting with White folk now having grown up in a Black city and then went to a HBCU, and trying the be Black and excellent. Also a little technical difficulties, low volume, sorry about that!
So let me tell you now I am a crybaby, but I wiped my tears and got the help I needed. Resource guide can be found at strengthsnotstrikes.com
It's my last first day of school as a student and it's like I'm a lost freshman all over again. Also, I did that thing I'm pretty sure every Black person does when they walk into a class at a PWI. You know what I did right? Find out on the episode!
I just moved and I have orientation, figured I'd share what happened in my world. Let me know if you even want to hear this podcast, email [email protected] Originally recorded August 2017.
