The high-speed Sei blockchain has launched its second Devnet iteration, introducing a key feature for developers. Now, they can deploy code compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) directly on Sei. This means developers familiar with Ethereum development can easily write and deploy their applications on Sei, potentially expanding the blockchain’s ecosystem and attracting more users.

♦️ Fed chair Jerome Powell said “We need a framework for stablecoins” and he is “very supportive and am glad that we are close,” Important to note this is according to a person in the room granted anonymity to provide the Fed chair’s quotes from the closed-door meeting.

♦️ Regarding Central bank digital currency Jerome Powel said “if we’re going to have a CBDC, Congress needs to authorize it,” according to the source in the meeting. “We aren’t advocates, but we haven’t made a decision to recommend a CBDC to Congress.”

🟢 The Ethereum network is experiencing a surge in the number of validators looking to stake their ether (ETH), with over 7,000 validators currently in the entry queue. This backlog is expected to be cleared in just over 48 hours, representing over 225,000 ether ($562 million). Despite the increase in staking activity, the annualized percentage yield on staked ether remains unchanged.
- The waitlist for new Ethereum validators is now the longest since early October.
- The renewed interest in staking is noteworthy as the yield on staked ether remains below 4%.https://lnkd.in/dRQ-WgAe
- Ethereum limits the number of new validators that can join the network per epoch or the time it takes to process blocks on the blockchain. This results in a backlog. An Ethereum epoch is 6.4 minutes long.

💥 Fraud Case Against Digital Currency Group ❌ Binance delists Monero ❗ Feb more supply of Aptos, Sandbox, Avalanche, Apecoin & Optimism

🚨 NY Attorney General Letitia James has expanded a fraud lawsuit against Digital Currency Group (DCG) and Gemini, alleging that they are responsible for $3 billion in investor losses. The initial lawsuit, which claimed that DCG cheated people out of $1 billion, has grown as more investors have come forward with losses related to the defunct Gemini Earn program. She asserts that the companies misled investors by falsely assuring them that their money was safe. She also stated the company is responsible for $3 billion in investor losses tied to the Gemini Earn product and to direct investments with Genesis, according to a new court filing here https://lnkd.in/dKipGY-9

🔴 Binance delists Monero & the price of Monero is down by over 20% since the last 7 days
- On February 20, 2024, Binance announced the delisting of several tokens, including Monero (XMR), Aragon, Multichain, and Vai. The news of this delisting caused XMR’s value to drop to its lowest point in five months on February 6. Binance will cease all trading pairs involving Monero, which includes pairs with Bitcoin, Ether, Tether, and Binance’s native coin, BNB. Withdrawals for XMR tokens will no longer be supported after May 20, 2024.

🚨 Binance stated that its decision to delist these tokens is based on various factors, including their contribution to the health of the crypto ecosystem, ethical conduct, and responsiveness to due diligence requests.

🟢 #Ethereum Dencun upgrade 💥 Bakkt may not continue 💡MicroStrategy buys more #BTC 🔥OKX is allegedly facing a probe in SK

🟢 Ethereum recently conducted its final practice run for a major upgrade called Dencun. This upgrade introduces a technical feature called “proto-danksharding,” which aims to make transactions cheaper and data storage more efficient. In simple terms, it creates a new way to store data called “blobs.” The successful test on the Holesky network means that Dencun is nearing its launch on the main Ethereum network in the coming weeks. This upgrade is significant because it’s the biggest change to Ethereum in almost a year.

🔥 Janet Yellen, the U.S. Department of the Treasury Secretary, believes that stablecoins should be regulated by a federal authority instead of leaving it up to individual states. Yellen suggests giving a federal regulator the power to decide whether or not a company should be allowed to issue stablecoins. A federal judge has ordered Ripple to provide financial documents to the SEC, including statements from 2022 to 2023 and contracts related to institutional sales. This is to determine if XRP should be considered a security. Ripple has until February 12th to comply.

- The SEC aims to use these documents to counter Ripple’s claims that its actions have been in compliance with the court’s initial filing.

- The SEC strongly believes that these documents are crucial for determining whether XRP should be classified as a security.

🚨 Hyperverse Founder Charged With Fraud, Was Promoting a New Crypto Project Hours Later

-Sam Lee, the founder of the HyperVerse crypto pyramid scheme accused of misappropriating $1.7 billion, is promoting a new crypto project called VEND just hours after being charged by the SEC. VEND is a livestream platform where participants can promote their crypto projects to potential investors, with viewers earning rewards for watching and subscribing. Solana blockchain did not produce a block in over 25 minutes, which is considerably long considering Solana has a block production time of 400 milliseconds.

🔥 Craig Wright is Accused of ‘Industrial Scale’ Forgeries on First Day of COPA Trial in the U.K. COPA, challenging Wright’s claim to be Bitcoin’s creator Satoshi Nakamoto, accuses him of forging documents on an “industrial scale.” Wright’s counsel argues COPA can’t provide direct evidence against his claim. The trial involves heated exchanges, and the presiding judge has allowed new evidence from Wright, pending review and cross-examination by COPA. COPA hopes for an injunction to prevent future legal challenges from Wright.
