  • Armin van Buuren, Pendulum and Rob Swire Drop Drum & Bass Rework of "Sound of You"

Trance titan Armin van Buuren has officially entered drum & bass territory—and he didn't come alone. He's teamed up with Pendulum and the band's frontman, Rob Swire, to release a blistering rework of last month's progressive house release, "Sound of You."

This time around, the music hits with the unmistakable grit of drum & bass. While the new rework maintains the melodic punch of its predecessor's build, it quickly veers into uncharted territory for van Buuren. The drop represents a full-blown genre pivot that belies the Dutchman's newcomer status in the drum & bass world.

"Drum & bass isn’t my usual space, but I had some ideas and it was a no-brainer to collaborate closely with Pendulum on this version," van Buuren said in a press release. "Being in the studio together made all the difference."

The collaboration is fitting. Pendulum built its legacy on genre fusion—metal, drum & bass and beyond—and continues to deliver boundary-breaking sets. Their new version of "Sound of You" adds yet another stylistic badge to van Buuren's crowded sash, reinforcing his standing as an electronic music icon unafraid of evolution.

  • Rimbano Drops Smoldering Tech House Track, "Grau"

Rising Italian producer Rimbano has dropped a new single, "Grau," a pumping tech house track that feels like it was made for the kind of underground party that doesn’t start until well after midnight.

Prior to its release, "Grau" received DJ support from tech house superstar and Hellbent Records founder Cloonee. Some of Rimbano's other records have been supported by John Summit, Malaa, Gordo and EDM.com Class of 2022 star ACRAZE, among other influential dance music producers.

Out now via Andruss' aptly titled Drop Low Records, "Grau" melds smoldering Latin influences with propulsive beats. Rimbano's production here is seductive yet commanding, an ode to body language on the dancefloor.

The track simmers with sultry allure, fusing humid Brazilian vocals with a four-on-the-floor rhythm designed for pure movement. Rimbano builds tension through repetition and restraint, letting the percussion simmer just beneath the surface before snapping into sharp, sweat-beading drops. Meanwhile, a tight, undulating bassline pulses through the mix as the temperature rises.

"Grau" features on Italian Sampler, a new compilation from Drop Low Records spotlighting a group of promising DJs and producers from the country. You can listen to the new track below.

  • Daft Punk Rumored to Be Reuniting in Fortnite

Fortnite's battle royale question "Where are we dropping?" might soon have a musical answer, as rumors point to legendary electronic music duo Daft Punk headlining the game's next Festival event.

The rumor comes courtesy of trusted Fortnite leaker @FNBRintel. While neither Fortnite creators Epic Games nor the elusive artists themselves have confirmed the collaboration, the leak has ignited a firestorm of speculation at the intersection of gaming and electronic music fandoms.

BREAKING: DAFT PUNK WILL REPORTEDLY BE THE NEXT FORTNITE FESTIVAL ARTIST

    (Via @FNBRintel) pic.twitter.com/nzqeYEgpPU

    — Stream (@StreamFNBR) April 7, 2025

Reunion rumors have been rampant since Daft Punk shockingly disbanded in 2021, leaving behind a deeply influential legacy and a trail of broken hearts. A number of archival releases have trickled out since, but fans have seen no signs of a bona fide comeback.

A collaboration between Daft Punk and Fortnite feels like a match made in digital heaven. Fortnite has consistently innovated the nexus of gaming and live music, starting with Marshmello's 2019 in-game performance and eventually creating a separate, rhythm-based game mode, Fortnite Festival, which has featured The Weeknd, Lady Gaga and Metallica.

The idea of donning Daft Punk’s iconic helmets while dancing to "One More Time" at a virtual festival stage is enough to send both ravers and gamers into orbit. If the rumor holds true, they're in for one of the most ambitious crossovers in digital entertainment in some time.

Until then, they'll have to wait, helmet in hand. Neither Epic Games nor Daft Punk has publicly addressed the rumors of a collaboration at the time of this writing.

  • Rich DietZ and 2AR Land on Tchami's Confession With Rave-Ready Single, "All I Need"

Built for dark rooms and peak-hour DJ sets, Rich DietZ and 2AR's new single "All I Need" lands today via Tchami's Confession, and it wastes no time getting to work.

A chugging bassline drives the groove from the track's outset, paired with taut percussion programmed with finesse. Meanwhile, a lyric we could all agree with ("All I need is a beat") anchors the arrangement, adding tension without pulling focus. It’s especially effective when you’re already locked into the rhythm and the energy starts to shift just a little deeper.

Both producers play to their wheelhouses. Rich DietZ the red-hot house music duo, bring the slick and infectious style they’ve sharpened through releases on Confession and Hood Politics while 2AR adds just enough grit to keep things suspenseful.

"All I Need" is a perfect match for Confession, which has always thrived on shadowy, groove-forward house. There’s no fluff or cheap gimmicks here—just a full-blown, four-on-the-floor rave anthem that should emerge as a go-to tool for DJs navigating the late-night hours.

  • Grit Meets Groove in R3WIRE's Raw House Track, "Stand & Deliver"

No vocals are needed in R3WIRE's latest single, where the groove does the talking.

"Stand & Deliver" is out now via Farris Wheel, the record label founded by Chicago house music legend Gene Farris. This instrumental track leans hard into its chunky beat, a steady, driving force with a bassline that chugs like a techno dad downing Red Bull-vodka.

R3WIRE doesn't reinvent the wheel here, but he spins it with authority. He keeps the arrangement simple but potent, bridging house's gritty origins with its modern sheen to deliver a four-on-the-floor jam with juice, built to last the night.

With crisp drums slicing through a thick low-end, the London-born beatsmith's production is bold but disciplined, creating a push-pull dynamic that oozes tension. The track is less about introspection and more about presence, echoing the raw, no-nonsense spirit of the city's warehouse rave days.

  • AVIRA, ENNEA and Rubicini's "RING RING" Answers the Call With Dose of Dancefloor Swagger

If melodic techno had a phone line, AVIRA, ENNEA and Rubicini's "RING RING" would send the receiver flying off the hook.

Out now via Armin van Buuren's Armada imprint, their new collaboration surges with purpose and lands with impact. Blending bellowing synth stabs and driving percussion, the track is the lead single from AVIRA’s forthcoming EP and signals Rubicini’s entrance into the dance music space.

As AVIRA and ENNEA co-pilot the track's driving momentum, Rubicini cuts to the core with a commanding vocal presence. Emerging from Toronto’s hip-hop and R&B undercurrent with a strong pop sensibility, the Canadian artist leans in, telling listeners to crank it up a notch and let the pressure rise.

Premiered on A State Of Trance and debuted live at the ASOT Festival in Amsterdam, "RING RING" had already echoed far and through the global dance circuit ahead of today's release. It's now primed to become a DJ weapon during this summer's festival season.

  • BARON Breathes New Life Into DJ Gregory's "Block Party"

BARON has released his remix of DJ Gregory's "Block Party," dusting off the 2000 Africanism staple and reimagining it for today's dancefloors.

The original, with its Milton Hamilton horn samples and marching snares, was Yellow Productions' declaration that European dance music could authentically channel African rhythmic traditions. BARON's 2025 version maintains its cross-continental conversation while speaking in grooves.

Rather than drowning the track in trendy production flourishes, the French producer peels back layers to expose its raw tribal house framework, then methodically reconstructs it with deeper bass textures and hypnotic percussion loops. In his hands, "Block Party" is revamped with the kind of cultural awareness that honors its origins while acknowledging dance music's evolutionary path.

The track is out now via Yellow Productions after receiving early DJ support from Pete Tong, Jamie Jones, Bedouin, AMÉMÉ and Franky Rizardo, among other influential DJs.

  • Noisia Member Sleepnet Launches New Project, Ring Noord, With Mind-Melting Debut Single: Listen

Noisia may be gone, but their DNA is already mutating as former member Sleepnet launches a new alias, Ring Noord.

The new project is a collaboration between Sleepnet, whose real name is Nik Roos, and Dutch producer and visual artist Former. And its first chapter begins today with "Wild Flowers," a track as forward-thinking as anything in their storied past.

Out now via Noisia's VISION imprint, Ring Noord's debut single plants its flag in the same soil the influential group once scorched. More psychological than punishing, "Wild Flowers" is both a nod and a rupture, drawing from the tactile futurism that made Noisia legendary. Featuring the vocals of Former's sister, Asa, the track laces club energy with emotional nuance, a signal that this new project won’t opt to trade intensity for predictability.

It opens with scuttling synths, mounting pressure before fracturing into a sleek drum & bass cadence. Quick-cutting percussion slices through the mix while maximalist synth stabs flare in the background to form a dense, cinematic storm.

  • Listen to Charlotte de Witte's Cerebral Techno Track, "The Realm"

There's a fine line between hypnosis and hedonism, and Charlotte de Witte's latest techno track "The Realm" dances on that boundary with finesse.

A lot of today's electronic music veers toward either TikTok-friendly drops or willfully obscure experimentalism, but the Belgian superstar offers a third path: music that demands movement while engaging the intellect. The cerebral techno banger, out now via de Witte's own KNTXT label, is the first single to release from her upcoming debut album.

What really elevates us into "The Realm" is the track's haunting spoken-word component, delivered with ritualistic conviction. The narrator's musings on sound, silence and transcendence transforms the arrangement into the kind of metaphysical experience de Witte envisioned for her self-titled album.

"'The Realm' is a really special track for me. It marks the beginning of a whole new chapter," de Witte said, "It's the first single from my debut album, and it carries the energy and philosophy that inspired the entire record. The lyrics capture the essence of what I believe music can do."

The deeply personal album, due out November 7th via KNTXT, will feature 11 tracks.

"Techno, and by extension clubbing, has always been about more than just dancing for me," she continued. "It’s about connection, transcendence and exploration. It’s a way of accessing something unseen, something powerful. There’s a tension and release in the structure that mirrors the feeling of letting go, of stepping into something bigger than yourself."

  • Avicii's "Levels" Named Official Anthem of 2025 Ice Hockey World Championship

Avicii's generational dance hit "Levels" has been named the official anthem of the 2025 Ice Hockey World Championship.

The tournament is organized annually by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) and is considered the sport’s most prestigious tournament after the Olympics.

"Avicii is not just one of our time’s greatest music creators, he is also a unique and acclaimed symbol for Sweden," IIHF CEO Tony Wiréhn said in a press release. "His music has a power and pulse that goes straight into the heart."

View the original article to see embedded media.

16 national teams will compete this year, including the defending champions, Czechia, and the host nation, Sweden, which received the bronze medal in the 2024. The tournament is scheduled to begin May 9th in Herning, Denmark before wrapping May 25th with the final in Stockholm.

The venue adds further significance to the announcement. Originally known as the Stockholm Globe Arena from 1989 to 2009 and Ericsson Globe until 2021, it was ultimately renamed Avicii Arena to honor the DJ's legacy and promote mental health awareness through the Tim Bergling Foundation, a nonprofit established by his family after his tragic death by suicide in 2018.

Further details on how "Levels" will be used during the tournament have not yet been disclosed, but the selection highlights Avicii's lasting impact while uniting fans of Sweden's national sport through one of its most iconic musical voices.
