The process of publishing a book can seem pretty mysterious to aspiring authors. What exactly goes on behind those closed doors? Publishing seems complicated and overwhelming, so much so that most people don’t follow through on their dreams of becoming an author. That’s why I’m so excited to have Clare Marshall on the podcast. Clare actually has her own publishing imprint, and she’s a book design and publishing expert. In our interview, we chat about many things, including publishing, book design and formatting, and selling your books in person at events. These are topics that I think will be of interest to every author, especially if you’re considering self publishing. Be prepared to learn a lot!

In this episode, I’m incredibly honored to feature an interview with Katy Widrick. Katy has been blogging for over a decade and has turned her passion for storytelling through her blog into a successful full-time business. She, to quote her, turned her “hobby into a jobby” where she helps fellow bloggers grow their businesses and connect more deeply with their audiences. She’s an expert on all things blogging, social media, and content creation, and she shares some great tips for how you can grow your blog and business with your book, just like she did.

If you’ve always dreamed of being a writer, you may have also dreamed of getting a specialized degree like an MFA. It’s easy to feel like you need to get a bunch of certifications or degrees before you can be truly successful at what you do. That’s why I’m excited to feature an interview Gabriela Pereira in today’s episode. Gabriela teaches writers strategies and techniques they would learn in an MFA program without the hefty price tag.
