He who wishes to fight must first count the cost. When you engage in actual fighting, if victory is long in coming, then men’s weapons will grow dull and their ardor will be dampened. If you lay siege to a town, you will exhaust your strength. Again, if the campaign is protracted, the resources of the State will not be equal to the strain. Now, when your weapons are dulled, your ardor dampened, your strength exhausted and your treasure spent, other chieftains will spring up to take advantage of your extremity. Then no man, however wise, will be able to avert the consequences that must ensue… In war, then, let your great object be victory, not lengthy campaigns.

Donny Walker and Dr. Shirley McKellar are LIVE in Texas!

We have a real problem with violence being glorified in the U.S. There are many places around the world that have implemented tremendous strategies to reduce crime and especially violence. Why can't we learn from them. We have CJ professors on tap to expose the collegiate level on thought in Black America about violence. We further delve into solutions that will enhance the communities in which violence has thrived for far too long.

Darrell Gardner's Horsemanship was founded upon four principles:

Showing Your Horse Love

By expressing love to your horse it helps to build a good relationship and strong bond. This will lead to a better response from your horse.

Gaining Respect

If you don't have respect on the ground, you won't have it on the saddle. Respect is an essential part of horsemanship and it begins with good ground manners

Teaching Obedience

Obedience comes with consistent training. This teaches your horse what you expect and how to quickly respond to the cues given.

Loyalty between the horse and trainer

It all begins with gaining trust. Your initial approach is extremely important. It takes patience and time to get your horse to gain faith in you.

“Each One Teach One.” We need all hands on deck!

From threatening another government shutdown over women's health funding and talking smack about the Pope after a visit to our country to letting the Benghazi which hunt cat out of the bag and insulting fellow citizens while pandering for votes on the campaign trail, the current state of the republican party is a never ending source of entertainment, befuddlement, comic relief and often, fear for the future. Last week Congressman McCarthy, presumed successor to John Boehner's position as Speaker of the House, spoke the truth on Fox "News" and confirmed what we already knew about the Benghazi which hunt. Now, we have learned that tea party Congressman Jason Chaffetz will challenge Rep. McCarthy for Boehner's gavel.  You may remember him from his starring role as liar who presented anti-choice propaganda as facts during the bogus Planned Parenthood hearing late last month. That should be fun to watch!  We also have more than a dozen Republicans on the march right now, throwing red meat out to their rabbid base.  Ted Cruz stated to a crowd in Kalamazoo, Michigan last week that it would be "crazy" for us to accept "Muslim, Syrians into our country."  Of course, he was referring to the 10,000 refugees we are preparing to accept as they have had to flee their war torn country.  Tune in to Eyes Wide Open for discussion on all this GOP madness and much more!

Life Happened...with Tawana Cadien is LIVE today for a discussion on Bullying and Its Impact.  We will be joined by professionals who will provide knowlege, tools for prevention, coping strategies and much more!  Psychiatrist Dawn Brown,Paul Queen founder of Quality Wellness, and Travis Hamilton founder of "No Bully Here!" will all join Tawana Cadien to raise awareness and understanding of this complex and prevelent phenomenon.  We all want to feel safe in the places where we spend much of our time, and we certainly want to ensure that our children feel that same sense of security!  Knowledge is power and today we will all become stronger and better prepared to stop bullying from entering into our lives!
