  • The Ombudsman Press Show
Meet 20-year-old Jewell Jones, candidate for Inkster City Council in the Great State of Michigan. I am proud to have this young leader on The Ombudsman Press Show! Here's What You have To Look Forward To: Quotes from a wise and capable young man; "I believe better days lie ahead in city of Inkster," Jones said. "We've had some bad actors in the past and I would like to get the city back on track." The University of Michigan-Dearborn student has decided to put his political science studies to work and run for a spot on Inkster City Council. "My personal initiatives are the parks and recreation, public safety and economic development."  He wants to help restore a positive image of Inkster, an image that received negative publicity after video of the Inkster police beating of Floyd Dent during a traffic stop went viral. "With public safety I just want to make sure we actually look at people we're hiring before we hire them," he said. "I'm a cadet in the US Army and I got selected for a one-month deployment in Romania to go work with Romanian Intelligence Service," he said. • Family Time with Mike Dee & Darrel Gardner Horsemanship Show
    7:30PM to 8:30PM
    The Mike Moore Show
The President of the Lone Star High Steppers
    8:30 PM to 10:30 PM
Darrell Gardner's Horsemanship was founded upon four principles:
    Showing Your Horse Love
By expressing love to your horse it helps to build a good relationship and strong bond. This will lead to a better response from your horse.
    Gaining Respect
If you don't have respect on the ground, you won't have it on the saddle. Respect is an essential part of horsemanship and it begins with good ground manners
    Teaching Obedience
Obedience comes with consistent training. This teaches your horse what you expect and how to quickly respond to the cues given.
Loyalty between the horse and trainer
It all begins with gaining trust. Your initial approach is extremely important. It takes patience and time to get your horse to gain faith in you.

  • Eyes Wide Open
The hottest topics in the news and politics is right here on Eyes Wide Open!! We will discuss the civil suit awarded to Eric Garner's family by the city of New York over his wrongful death at the hand of a police officer who placed him in an unlawful choke hold for the crime of selling loose cigarettes.  Serena Williams wins Wimbledon for the 6th time but all the NY Times and others in the media seem to care about is body shaming and disrespecting her.  Climate change deniers are LOVING the story about the "mini ice age" due to overtake our planet in the next 15 years, and they don't even mind that the story is FAKE!!  Our first story comes from the the great state of Texas.  They have found yet another way treat people like they just don't matter by simply refusing to issue birth certificates to children born to undocumented immigrants..."my eyes are covered and I can't see you, so now you don't exist!"  We will talk to Jennifer Harbury, the legal aid attorney who has filed a petition with the U.S. District Court in San Antonio, TX asking the court to order Texas Department of Health officials to issue birth certificates for children born to undocumented immigrants. Surely this latest move to deny birth certificates to these children comes straight from the Donald Trump playbook of "Sound and Fair Immigration Policy!"  Speakling of Trump, does his surge in polling indicate that he is the "id" of the GOP base right now?  On the other hand, Bernie Sanders just may be the very same representation of the base on the left!  Join Rheana Nevitt Piegols, Michael Handley of DemBlogNews and our Eyes Wide Open roundtable panel to discuss all of this and much more!

  • Life Happened...
Join Tawana Cadien and guest Dr. Niama Williams today on Life Happened...  From Homelessness to Hope. Dr. Niama L. J. Williams believes that dreams deserve to be lived, and thus has committed herself and her company to liberating those who dream of a different life each day but cannot seem to actively step into that life. After 17+ years as a professor of literature and composition, Dr. Ni experienced homelessness and that revolutionized her self-concept and commitment to others. Now Dr. Ni knows for sure that those who serve the indigent and the indigent themselves are some of the hardest working and most stressed people in our society. She is building a non-profit, Blowing Up Barriers Enterprises, that will employ the indigent, the long-term under- and un-employed, those on fixed-, low-, or no-income in the selling of her books, workshops, and intuitive counseling practice. She understands that those who have been traumatized by poverty, violence, an almost complete lack of opportunity, addiction, et cetera, will be profoundly changed by her work and experiences. They deserve a concrete leg up in this difficult economy. Dr. Ni earned her own leg up through a bachelor’s degree in Comparative Literature from Occidental College; a master’s in professional writing from the University of Southern California; and a master’s and Ph.D. in African American literature from Temple University. She has written and published 13 books about recovery from trauma, and hopes to place them in treatment centers, hospitals, and welfare offices across the country to encourage and uplift those who face the dragons of life each day.
