Our final episode of the Halloween Series is here - only two weeks after Halloween ended! In this look at Saw 3D/Saw VII/Saw: The Final Chapter and anything else you want to call it, we talk about just how messy this franchise has gotten in its final trilogy. Saw 3D is the pinnacle of this messiness, the film that loses all connection to what the original Saw began. We also briefly touch on the horrors of the American election (so if you're not a Libtard like us, you may want to skip that and/or our entire podcast) and drink a lot - focusing on Woodchuck and Angry Orchard ciders.

Our penultimate episode of the Halloween Series airs a couple days after Halloween, but that doesn't mean we can't keep the celebration going. We're talking SAW VI, the next-to-last entry in the series! We didn't like it all that much, because the plots get messier, the flashbacks get more abundant, and the traps become less about the players and more about how Jigsaw was denied something from them. We're also talking Brooklyn Octoberfest, Saranac, and more!

Our fifth episode in the Halloween Series tackles Saw V, which we found to be a rather unnecessary installment of the franchise. Martin even called it a complete waste of time, ranking it a 4 out of 10 and labeling it the worst of the Saw films so far. Besides that stinker of a film, we also talk about The Walking Dead's new season premiere, take a quick look at Ash vs Evil Dead's second season, and talk about Guinness' new Rye Pale Ale. Our Halloween Series this year takes on all seven of the Saw films, and we start in chronological order with Saw. This was the first in this torture porn genre and arguably the best, with the most manageable plot that focused less on gore than twisty puzzles. However, there are still a lot of problems stylistically and rudimentarily, and we definitely point those out. It's Martin's first time watching a Saw film!

Tenebrae is a highly renowned giallo film, recently released on a single-disc Blu-Ray by Synapse Films. Dario Argento's direction is fantastic in this whodunnit about a novelist targeted by a sadistic killer using his latest novel as inspiration, and many themes are prominent throughout this slow burn that uses death as an art form. We talk about giallo in general first, then dive into Tenebrae itself - its metacommentary, its ideas about human corruption and depravity, and of course the non-Goblin soundtrack.

Stay Alive is a terrible film made by people who apparently don't know anything about video games, and in this episode we discuss the logistics of the film's game, the horrid acting and directing, and contemplate how the film got released to theaters in the first place. Stay Alive is one of those movies that is so bad that it's just plain bad, and we talk about for an exorbitant amount of time.

Gene Wilder recently passed away, and in tribute to his career, we pay our respects with this episode. We discuss his filmography including Blazing Saddles, The Producers, and Willy Wonka, and then we dive into the movie of the week - Young Frankenstein. A comedy classic with homage to Universal monster films, this satirical film is nearly perfect, with tons of subtle comedy and a good story to boot. Thanks for everything, Gene Wilder.
