Hello everyone and welcome to Blood Runs Cold, a brand new true crime podcast looking at cases from around the world involving murder, missing persons, miscarriages of justice, and more, with the emphasis on the victims of these crimes.
I’m Peter, creator and host of this podcast, and in Episode 1 I will be looking at the disappearance and murder of 14-year-old Hannah Williams, who went missing in April 2001, and whose case highlighted the media phenomenon known as Missing White Woman Syndrome.
If you enjoy this episode and would like to help us grow, please leave us a review (hopefully 5 stars) wherever you listen.

If you want to find out more about missing people, if you have a loved one who has gone missing, or you are a missing person, there are resources out there to help.
Some of these are listed and linked below:
- Missing People
- UK Missing Persons Unit
- Look 4 Them
These are the ones I found to be of most use in the United Kingdom. There are many more that can help so if you search "Missing Persons" in your internet search engine, especially if you add your area, you will find a list of websites for you to find what you're looking for.
If you are in the USA, the best place to find information for missing persons is probably the FBI website where they have a list of missing and kidnapped people. Again, there are probably resources especially for your local area that you will be able to find via an internet search.
I mention two particular newspaper articles during this episode that you can read at the following links:
- The Girl Who Vanished - Raekha Prasad
- The Vanishing - Martin Bright
The Lucy Faithfull Foundation is the only UK-wide child protection charity dedicated solely to preventing child sexual abuse, and they set up a website called Parents Protect that supports parents in preventing their children from falling victim to abuse or exploitation.
