It is finally time to settle an ongoing fued here on the Bloody Good Film Podcast. This week we are joined by Mike and James of The Buzzed Kill Podcast to sit down and finally end our debate on whether it is pronounced Lambert or Lamb Bear. As with all great debates, we decided that there was no better way to settle the argument than with lots of beer and two Christopher Lambert movies, Fortress and Fortress 2 Re-Entry.

This week the Bloody Good Film Podcast is joined by yet another host from one of our favorite podcasts, Skeptic Hangout. We previously brought you Richard Gilliver to talk exorcisms and Emily Rose, and this week we are joined by the amazing Laura Magee to talk aliens, abductions, and this week's film, Fire In The Sky.

This week on the Bloody Good Film Podcast we try to figure out how an accomplished feminist came to write a script about a group of teenage girls being murdered by a killer who uses an unnecessarily large drill as a murder weapon and a metaphor for his junk... Just when we thought we had seen it all, we sat down for the sequel which features a new driller killer who sings, dances, murders, and shreds with his brand new guitar drill!!!! Join us as we start our next franchise deep dive and watch The Slumber Party Massacre and The Slumber Party Massacre II.

We discuss this feminist take on the slasher genre and try to figure out if it was written as a parody film or as a straight forward slasher movie. We talk everything from unnecessarily long shower scenes and naked pillow fights to eating pizza off the dead and hunting snails with a meat cleaver. All while trying to figure out why the varsity basketball team doesn't even have jerseys? 

Fast forward a few years and the unimportant little sister from the original is now a completely different actress and the main focus of the sequel. We break down the two possible interpretations of the ending of this film and even come up with a third possible interpretation that may be even better. Listen to us argue about how roofs work and help us try to figure out exactly what that black ooze coming out of the chicken was.

This week the Bloody Good Film Podcast takes a look at one of the better quarentine projects to come out of the 2020 pandemic. While our pandemic podcast is clearly the best new media to emerge from quarentine, we discuss what might be a close second as we watch the 2020 Shudder original, Host. A movie filmed entirely through Zoom. 

Before joining our Zoom call we take a moment to reflect on the life and career of iconic director,  Richard Donner in the wake of his recent passing. An incredible career that spanned multiple decades in both the action and horror genres. We discuss all of our favorite Richard Donner films including everything from The Omen and Lethal Weapon to Assassins and... Timeline?

We then join our Zoom call and enter into a seance gone wrong. We discuss if this film is a snapshot of the time that will become an instant classic or if the ingenuity and great marketing will be forgotten in the coming years. We talk jump scares, scary music boxes, and try to figure out why in the world everyone is running around with their laptops in their hands! We appreciate the use of modern technology and discuss whether or not the Zoom meeting template works for this movie. All the while Josh does nothing but complain about our characters running around with their laptops.

This week on the Bloody Good Film Podcast we talk about the bus that couldn't slow down and the boat that couldn't go fast! Make sure to keep up as we try to stay above 50 MPH and talk the Keanu Reeves' classic, Speed. We decided to follow up one of the greatest adrenaline rushes of the 90s, with a sequel that takes place on a cruise ship which at no point ever appears to go fast. That's right we are also watching Speed 2: Cruise Control. 

Keanu Reeves, Sandra Muppet, Dennis Hopper, and Jeff Daniels form a near perfect cast as we discuss all the chemistry that makes this film an all time classic. We talk everything from Keanu one liners to the legendary freeway bus jumping scene. We also try to figure out if "Gigantor" is an offensive name, and if relationships based on intense experiences ever work. 

We then move on to the Keanu-less sequel to find out that Sandra Bullock learned relationships based on intense experiences actually don't work, as we are now forced to watch Jason Patric attempt to save a giant cruise ship from doing anything even remotely entertaining. We watch in awe yet again as the great Willem Dafoe attempts to single handedly put another movie on his back as our main antagonist. Finally we desperately try to figure out where the "speed" in this sequel is.

That all changes this week as we discuss one of the greatest films ever made, The Rock. Nicolas Cage teams up with the late, Sean Connery to take on one of the most complex action villains of all time, Ed Harris.

This week the Bloody Good Film Podcast is heading north of the border to visit the Collingwood Psychiatric Hospital. This hospital  is the filming location for the newest episode of our Ghost Adventures knockoff, Grave Encounters. An episode so questionable that we decided to go back to Collingwood for a documentary titled, Grave Encounters 2!

Join us we follow Zak Bag.. I mean Lance Preston and his team of paranormal investigators into this found footage film where nothing ever is as it seems. We discuss how we feel about this "ghost hunting" genre of TV and Josh even talks about some of his personal ghost hunting experiences. Listen as we break down the ever changing hospital and complain multiple times about the overuse of CGI ghost face!

During our discussion of the sequel we try to figure out who is this generation's Carpenter or Romero. We try to figure out why death awaits our new film crew and try to follow along  with this new cube-esque plot. Oh, and more complaining about ghost face!

This week the Bloody Good Film Podcast has arrived at the final tournament. We've discussed Lamb Bear v Lambert. We've relived the nostalgia of the original film and forced ourselves to sit through the annihilation of the sequel. All just so we could review the brand new 2021 Mortal Kombat film. Current meets classic as we pair Mortal Kombat with the Bruce Lee martial arts masterpiece, Enter The Dragon. 

Bruce Lee shows off why he inspired so many modern day martial artists, and this film shows why characters such a Lui Kang can easily be traced back to him. We break everything down from the diversity in the cast to actors not wanting to be kicked by Bruce Lee anymore. We analyze the plot and find the blue print for many modern day martial arts films, including our next one. 

In what might be this podcast's most anticipated movie of the year so far, we jump right into the newest Mortal Kombat film. Spoiler warning throughout the episode as we do not hold back. We talk our favorite kills, rank our favorite movies in the series, and put the original cast vs the 2021 cast to see who comes out on top.

This week the Bloody Good Film Podcast is taking a trip down to the sunset strip in search of a secret group of vampires. These aren't just any vampires though! These are people scaring, guy liner wearing, glam rock vampires, led by the Ace of Spades himself, Lemmy Kilmister of Motorhead. Together they are the Sunset Society. 

Before discussing the film we revisit the Amazon Prime series, Invincible. Now that season 1 is over we needed to discuss the twist and turns, the blood and gore, and the absolute insanity that is the subway scene. This part of the podcast is very spoiler heavy, so if you have any intention on watching the show (and you need to asap) go ahead and fast forward to the 17:03 mark of this episode to hear us talk Sunset Society.
