Main Point- Your actions reveal your heart, and unless your heart is humbled you will not know God's mercy-1. When you sulk it reveals a heart that is covetous-2. You are to obey God's righteous laws, despite the opposition you may face -3. You are to see the compromise that worshipping false gods brings, for no longer is God's law the only law to obey-4. You are not to misinterpret God's presence as your enemy but remember his mercy

Main Point- God is at work despite what it seems so don't despair but continue to serve.--1. Do not be surprised by the rejection of the gospel v1-3--2. In discouragement remind yourself of God's physical and spiritual provision v4-10--3. God is present with you in his word v11-14--4. God is at work and so you are to continue serving Him v13-18

The resurrection of Jesus is the ultimate evidence that He has the power to save you- trust Jesus and proclaim the power of His resurrection.

God's promise of rain drives Elijah to persistent prayer and we likewise should pray with expectation upon God's promises. -- 1. You are to find confidence in God's graciousness--2. You are to be persistent in prayer--3. You are to pray asking God to remember His promises--4. In your weakness you are to find God's enabling

In comparing God to false gods, only God is true, He turns hearts back to him because he listens to his people. --1. You are to recognize that false gods have an appeal-2. You are to realize that false gods do not and cannot answer prayer-3. You are to see the power of God, only he answers prayer-4. You are to know that God is gracious and just, turning hearts back to him.

Main Point- God calls us into hard places but we can always depend on his word. -1. You are to depend on God's word which reminds us that God is king whatever your circumstances v7-9-2. You are to depend on God's word which points out his care to the needy including the orphan and widow v9-16-3. You are to depend on God's word even when you have abandoned all hope v17-24

Reject the invitation to pursue evil by listening to the wisdom of the One who shed His blood for you.

Proverbs is the wisdom of God, given to His sons and daughters so they may live in fellowship with their King, the Lord Jesus.

Main Point- When God seems far, he is present in His word and so we are to continue obeying His word or face the judgement of a famine from His word.-1. You are not to compromise on God's word despite what the world tells you - v29-34-2. You are to listen to God's word for only God is powerful, he keeps his word v1-3. You are to recognize that God in judgement will remove his word but he will never remove it completely v2-6.

Main Point- You are not alone in the Christian faith - God provides friends albeit imperfect and ultimately, he provides himself.-1. You are called to love your fellow believers v9, 11-13, v19-21-2. You are called to encourage others to serve God v10-3. You will be disappointed in your relationships v 10, v14-16-4. You are never alone, Jesus Christ is always with you v17-18, v22
