You are by nature selfish but the selfless love of Jesus for you frees you to consider others better than yourself.

Self control is an under-appreciated fruit of the Spirit- seek it in all of areas of your life through Jesus by whose prefect self control you are saved.

True faith trust God and acts according to His word.

Congregations need oversight. Be thankful that your church is willing to pay the price to strengthen its congregations.

God is with you in times of doubt- remind yourself of this by seeking Him in His sanctuary.

Receive the gift of the Sabbath and celebrate the completed work of Christ by resting and working in Him.

Encouragements for continuing on in Christ when suffering comes your way--1. You are to continue in the pattern set down by Paul the apostle v10-11a--2. You are to continue on confident that the Lord will deliver you v11b-13--3. You are continue on in your knowledge of the Bible v14-15--4. You are continue on confident that the word of God will equip you v16-17

You work as an exile in this world. Work for the peace of your community secure in the hope of your eternal home.

Hard work is the God-ordained means whereby you provide for yourself and help others in need. Seek Jesus' help to work sacrificially for others.

Main Point- You are called to be faithful to God's word against the many errors creeping into the church. --1. You are to strive for words of truth rather than unprofitable words v14-15--2. You are to see that false teaching leads to ungodliness. V16-18--3. You are to be cleansed of false teaching so to be useful to God. V20-23--4. You are to serve God by teaching others with gentleness to bring them to repentance v24-26
