Bob Gibson, simply put, the greatest pitcher, and fiercest competitor, in St. Louis Cardinals history. Bob was inducted into baseball’s Hall of Fame in 1981 and his final record stands at 251-174.  He was twice the MVP of the World Series, threw a no-hitter, and authored the greatest season pitching season in the history of baseball with a 1.12 ERA in 1968.

I couldn’t wait to sit down and visit with Bob.  The focus of this podcast was all about 1968.  As you know, this season, it’s the 50th anniversary of that incredible achievement.  An ERA of 1.12.  I mean really…how is that possible?  He literally changed the game the next season when baseball lowered the mound.  I think you’ll enjoy Bob going through that season, the World Series, Tim McCarver, and what it all means to him.
