As Omicron cases surge, many of the most reliable treatments are still effective. Infections are less serious, and the need for vaccinations is limited. Locally, Littel is having success filling ivermectin prescriptions, which joins a long list of proven therapeutics.

Omicron has been easier to treat in patients, with fewer serious cases than the delta variant. Dr. John Littel on the Bob Rose Show says Omicron is hitting vaccinated and unvaccinated patients, and hydroxychloroquine is very effective. He recommends everyone taking preventative Vitamin D3 and drink plenty of fluids. Winter months are keeping people indoors more, even in Florida, and this is increasing infections. Unhealthy children are more vulnerable to serious complications, similar to other variants. Dr. John is less concerned about further mutations, because natural immunity in the population will help people fight off the viruses. And right now, the Omicron variant is very treatable with fewer serious complications.
